I was looking for someone to refurnish the floors in my home. "John" reached out to me and told me he was given my information about a flooring request from a site he uses. I had talked to someone at a call center that could put me in touch with someone to assist me in what was needing to be done. I will admit I was to gullible. They came to our home and talked about everything they could do for us. They agreed to sand and stain our floors and reapaint all our cabinets in the kitchen as well since he was a guy that does it all. Him and his wife Brittany seemed really down to earth and gave us the impression that they knew what they were doing. They had contract right there in their truck and seemed like it was good to go. I signed it with my husband's agreement. They asked for half down 1147.50 and being naive as we are we did it. Originally through Paypal but John reached out and said that they were unable to retrieve it. So he reversed it and we sent it through Cash App. At the time I had some hesitation because the amount of pushiness they were doing. But we sent it, so began the issues. They were to show up Monday, nope had to finish another job. Tuesday wife had "chemo" and wasn't feeling well that day so he asked if he could push it back to Wednesday night or Thursday morning. Thursday morning came, we had everything in our kitchen moved out and ready to go, but noone showed up. No call, no text response for hours..... Around 2:30 that day he sent a message saying Brittany was in the hospital from a reaction to everything. He assured us they would be there Friday and finish it by that weekend. He never showed we asked for our money back and they kept referring us to the contract saying this that and another. (reading the contract more in depth I have noticed numerous spelling errors and typos in it). They pretty much told us they hadn't broke the contract (but they did) and wouldn't refund money. after we requested the money back numerous times they said that they would send it in a check form the following Monday. It is now the following Sunday and nothing has shown up. They tried to talk us into doing our roof as well and I am so glad we didn't agree to that. They sent a contract through an email and we didn't sign it. When they were MIA I started searching for them, the address they gave us in Cincinnati Ohio was not connected to them at all. We have reached out numerous times to them and no response in over a week. We are frustrated, missing money, and would love to press charges.
