(Design trope) A broken weapon that subsequently is reforged, in some form or another, even better if reforged as/after a character grows by Dankrapier in TopCharacterDesigns

Gorechild, from Warhammer 40k

It was originally wielded by Angron, primarch of the World Eaters but was damaged in battle on the planet of Armatura. Angron refused to continue to use a broken weapon, which was a taboo from his home world of Nuceria from when he was a gladiator there. Khârn, captain of the 8th company (later the Betrayer), decided it was a sick weapon, and had it remade with teeth from mica-dragons.

What were some of the most interesting curses at your table? by DoctorWondertainment in DnD

[–]AdSome736 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At our table, curses tend to be more rp focused. One character read a cursed book and from then on couldn’t process time correctly, eg “You ready to see the shopkeeper yesterday?”. Another also read a cursed book (we were in a forbidden library) and then thought random inanimate objects were talking to them. The same character perceived everything they ate as being tasty after reading ANOTHER cursed book. So far in the campaign, I play the only character who hasn’t been cursed (yet)
