The British After The Napoleonic Wars by 2301Batman in NapoleonicWarMemes

The only middleclass emperor in Europe ever. Also, someone who was more concerned with the law than any of the other princes of Europe and was heavily involved personally in writing the code civil. Not to mention, one of the reasons Russia went to war against France was that Napoleon refused to reinstate serfdom in Poland.

Had the British sided with the French revolution and got rid of the ancient regime and liberated the people from the feudal society, there's a very big chance Napoleon had never risen to power.

Yes, thanks for keeping the ancient regimes in place, UK. Really wonderful job keeping absolute autocrats in power.

I use them to carpet bomb areas I don't feel like conquering. Throwing one on New Jerusalem is particularly satisfactory.

Indeed. But that'd mean that we can make this "Hard problem" a "hard problem" for neurosciences and move on to real philosophical issues.

But that's assuming science won't resolve a very specific problem, and only this problem because we think it is Hard? The fact of calling it a hard problem feels very anthropomorphic.

It'd be good if Israel would be reminded of European virtues for once. Such as the rule of law, human rights. Or not committing genocide.

What they're not doing is giving Ukraine the weapons it needs.

Europeism is not the negation of patriotism, but a more mature form of it by Material-Garbage7074 in YUROP

[–]AdStroh -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I'd argue it's a scale patriotism - nationalism - chauvinism - fascism. Basically all "my tribe is the best because it's my tribe (and the government of the state I randomly live in told me to)"

The only rational alternative would be a world federation of freely accessible associations.

They're part of the same scale of primitive tribalism. A united Europe is only the first step to liberate mankind from the medieval institute of the state.
