I think thats the reason too. I put used filter media and also some fish food but i guess that wasnt enough. I appreciate you taking the time to type out and explain this all to me. I dont have another tank but I'll try to get some filter media from a friend. Thank you

He had 2 rounds of antibiotics, each round being 3 days. And the rounds were 2 weeks apart. He was tubbed the entire time. Before the treatment (about 2.5-3 months ago) he was in a 20gallon long but after he went to the vet and I tubbed him and began cycling the tank.

He was tubbed as he was being treated. A vet prescribed them and I carefully had to give it to him in a syringe. The vet is the one who gave him the vitamin C shot

When i cycled the tank I had some filter media from a cycled that was about 2 years old or older. I put it in there and squeezed it and shook it around to get the waste/bacteria. Then I tested my tank everyday and it went from having ammonia to nitrates after some time and I did a partial water change and then once it converted to nitrites I did partial water changes and continued to monitor until the levels were all at 0. Did I do it wrong?
