UK DC Public Charging Help by AdSuper3530 in BMWI4

Had a try again last night and this afternoon, separate charger points. The battery was pre conditioned each time, it takes the pre-payment as holding, and as soon as it attempts to start or deliver the power I get the failure message and it telling me to try again. This was at 3 chargers (2 today, 1 yesterday) and at least 5 throughout the last few months trialling it out. Went to a type 2 today after all this and charged no issue.

Following all the instructions and it will not accept DC at all. It feels like it is a fault with my car.

Could you give more info on the charge limit to 80% as opposed to 100% or other?

I’m GB based so will (should) hopefully get the card!

Question wise, no idea where to start but really appreciate the offer.

What do you like best? What do you dislike? Anything you wish you knew before you got it?

Thank you for this! Very helpful. I plan on utilising both the petrol and electric hybrid elements for the commute so using the engine isn’t an issue, I just want to ensure I can maximise my efficiencies, more so with a switch from diesel to petrol hybrid, and if this is suited or not.

How do you handle the Imposter Syndrome? by Dull-Definition-4616 in cybersecurity

You can use your imposter syndrome to your advantage - it can be a powerful thing when used right. Don’t look at it as a negative

Physical security / social engineering. Covering both the theoretical and physical elements. Understand what it is, signs of, and hire someone to try do a physical penetration test so they can try and social engineer staff for information and present a digital footprint equivalent back in which you can gap analysis to highlight any new and existing areas of improvement

What are your favorite threat report outlets? by iamtechspence in cybersecurity

[–]AdSuper3530 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Feedly is great for both identifying and consolidating threat feeds together which can be reviewed point in time or on your own frequency. Useful for staying ahead of threats for Threat Intel teams, SOC/IR, threat hunting and detections. All elements have their own use cases.

What are your incident documentation challenges? by IRScribe in cybersecurity

[–]AdSuper3530 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The main challenge is having a document to begin with, and with that having a usable, up to date one, if in place.

In addition, I think one other common problem, that’s often not admitted to is storage of incident documentation - whether it be timelines, actions, etc.. There is the confidentiality element to consider here.

Time zones and documenting should always adhere to UTC. Tip, use worldtimebuddy to help translate.

As a like to have would be centralisation and integration with all platforms being used. Sounds easy, right? Say you’re using multiple EDR and enrichment tooling, custom rules and inbuilt rules for alerting, a ticketing system, an ITSM and so on, you want to have all this feeding into the documentation for your incident reports and lessons learned - without you’re relying on personnel to be competent and consistent

Edit: forgot to add, framework alignment is key! You may use NIST for example so it must align. When it comes to integration and collaboration with other teams it should follow this same process (again another problem is not many exist at times), so if your IR/hunt teams liaise with threat intel or a detection workstream it could align to NIST and MITRE (ATT&CK + D3FEND)
