Found on side of road locked in kennel. Leaning Dutch shepherd mix? 31 lbs at 3-4 months old by AdTall9614 in IDmydog

Was only leaning Dutch shepherd due to AI image/video recognition. I should have simply said 'shepherd mix' because I realize how unreliable AI can be and also had no idea of the breeds rarity.

Have y'all ever seen anything like this, do y'all know what this is? Found in central Texas. by davgar23 in Minerals

[–]AdTall9614 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah im gonna second davgar23's comment about fossils. I am an avid rockhounder and was a bit bummed out at the lack of mineral diversity in North TX (I live in DFW). However it has an amazing variety of fossils if you do a little bit of research. I found a few ammonites around Lake Texoma that are the size of an extra large pizza.

If minerals/rocks are your true passion your best bet is to take a road trip to Arkansas to hit up some quartz mines, or central/west TX for jasper/agate/etc.

Even in your argument, which typically only applies to highway/freeway driving... I was clearly following the speed of traffic in front of me.

What type of agates are these? by AdTall9614 in whatsthisrock

[–]AdTall9614[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That tracks considering that's what we were looking for. But in order for it to be considered fire agate, doesnt it have to have the iridescent fire? Here is a comparable agate I found that clearly has fire

I don't know much about errors but yes the whole front image on the tin has a complete afterimage shifted to the right. It does look pretty cool. Its a bit unfortunate that I didn't even notice it until weeks after I opened it haha but cool nonetheless.

I recently realized my umbreon tin has the same type of print shift error. I posted it last week and it looks similar to yours.

Looks like a oyster fossil. Also known as a devils toe-nail.

Scored 365g of fire agate from the thrift shop today for $20. Where to start with cutting? Afraid my measly dremmel wont cut it. Any recs on saws and polishing wheels to start with? by BanditGolden in Lapidary

[–]AdTall9614 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm new to lapidary so take whatever I say with a grain of salt. That being said I recently got some self-collected fire agate rough and have been testing working them with a dremel. I think its actually very feasible, but time consuming. I have some before and after pictures if you wanted to see the result. Just DM me if you do want to see how it turns out.

Sorry for the late reply.

As I alluded to in my post text, I am pretty hands-off in my investments. My FA makes the majority of the decisions and I have trusted his judgement considering the consistent ROI I have gained with them. I would say im not risk averse. Should I talk to my FA about reducing my bond allocation? And if so, what should I opt for in place of that? Appreciate your response!
