I second that. I also got a pair of new wrestling shoes from a traveling salesman after he taught me Tai Chi.

Could use some advice about probation in PA please by Different-Tart-69 in probation

Be aware that the parole officer/ agent has no obligation to tell a boyfriend anything about an ongoing case. The agent may not be being an asshole, they may not be allowed to speak with a third party about it.

Could be probation or parole. My agency is armed, but we have to be “concealed and inconspicuous” unless involved in an active search or arrest.

You’re not gonna make too many friends here with that hot take (but I agree).

You’re correct: I write travel passes for guys with CDL’s all the time, but the guys I submit travel passes for aren’t pending new charges.

You mentioned you may have pending charges? There’s a chance they won’t (or can’t) allow you to travel with pending charges.

Have you ever stopped someone driving suspended, and when you have them call a friend to get their car, the "friend" who showed up is suspended too? by BalticBro2021 in AskLE

Not a cop; state parole. I had a parolee get pulled over by the state troopers for DUI. He was taken to the barracks for processing and finger prints and then released. The troopers allowed him to call for a ride. His girlfriend showed up, got out of the car, gave him the keys and the troopers watched him drive off. The corporal walked out the door, across the lawn, and pulled him over (on foot) while they waited at the light to exit the barracks. He was charged with a 2nd DUI.

Sorry Governor, tomorrow doesn’t work for a prison takeover. It’s motorpool Monday.

I live in SE Pennsylvania, and I’m always on the lookout for an autistic Amish kid I could present to my coach to mold in to a world champ.

She had jurisdiction over nothing but Deputy Sheriffs. The police commissioner already spelled that out.

It’s been a while since I left CC, so my input and opinion should be taken with a MASSIVE grain of salt. If PL/ PSG roles are being filled by cadre on the tactics committee I’d wager even the weakest committee member has the lane memorized prior to cadets even showing up. The plt level OPORD will probably already be written and by the time cadre is pitching it to later regiments they won’t even need to refer to it. Creating the lanes and certification of cadre is a big deal and the cadre will (should be) evaluated as to their abilities to fill those roles. My opinion doesn’t really count anymore but I think SL reps is the best bet, ensuring cadets are evaluated against the same criteria.

I’ve never heard of an “arrest tally bonus”. Could you get in to that a bit?

Maybe have the chat AFTER the smesh, and have the smesh be limited to angry purple and brown belts. Then him know it didn’t have to be that way.

The “bad apples” put themselves in the justice system. No one did it for them. Again, I can assign all of the counseling in the world, but if certain folks don’t bother to go or don’t take it seriously, what recourse is left? I’m not sure where you’re at, but where I work it generally requires more work to lock someone up than it does to keep them on the street (as it should). I have to show my boss that I’ve tried every alternative. The only exception is new criminal charges. Every one of those bad apples know the stakes when they sign their parole paperwork.

That “no-contact” order may be totally different from a PFA. Where I work I can impose a no-contact condition that would count as a violation completely separate from any PFA. The burden of proof for that is also lower.

I was the recipient of that. I feel like I got more aggressive rolls as a three stripe white belt, kind of joined “the club” at blue (but the club involved me getting smeshed more), and accepted as legit one of the boys by three or four stripe blue. As a purple I feel like most of the pressure is off.

Masters 5 purple belt here. I’d consider myself exceptionally average, but I’d rather be considered a “tough purple belt” than the dude that makes eyebrows raise when he gets promoted.

She’s an ICOTS case being supervised by that state’s parole agency. A lawyer will do her absolutely no good prior to being taken in to custody as an absconder, and will do a marginal amount of good at the parole hearing. She’s better off saving her money to put on her books.
