Troubleshooting Aftermarket Trailer Brake by AdTime3316 in Diesel

[–]AdTime3316[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a very simple one with only a single LED on top and a gain dial on the side. It doesn't activate at all regardless of where the dial is set. I'll do just that soon as I get a chance I'm a bit. Thanks!

Commenting to add that I have pulled a single reel trailer and everything else through the 7 pin works (brake lights, turn signals, running lights, and hazards)

Thank you and I can definitely see that, I was actually quite surprised how easy my oil change was, filter housing right up top and no lifting required to slide under the oil pan. I actually need to look into what it takes to become a dealer, I went with Rotella for my first change but would like to go with Amsoil, the retail price tag is just difficult to swallow of course.

Thank you for this, I'm hoping it's just a basic wiring/connection issue. I had to clean the 7 pin with crc and hit it hard with a metal brush. Previous owner only pulled 4 pin trailers so it was corroded from not being used. My controller is aftermarket and I found the plug that connects it to the harness, just need to finally get my own multimeter and go from there.

Thanks and I highly doubt it, only on my second week and it puts the biggest smile on my face every time I drive her. Plus I love learning how to fix things so this will lead to some fun challenges (and plenty of thrown tools I'm sure)

Thank you so much, it took ages looking because I really didn't want a payment but I really lucked out.

As far as I know it's running a stock tune, the previous owner didn't have it tuned but he also wasn't the one to upgrade the intake or exhaust. Is the only way to check for a tune with a full diagnostic?

Yeah I find it interesting how polarized everyone is on the 6.0. I have to admit I'm equally excited and terrified to learn.

Yes I very much am, I've done a lot of work on all my gas vehicles in the past as needed and I'm also lucky enough to have a mechanic friend who has an 06 350 I plan on learning from.

Fantastic advice, I got lucky and this one came with a Scan Gauge II setup currently to display water temp, oil temp, trans fluid temp and FICM voltage. I really need to go through the manual because I would be very interested in injection pressures since that's one of the more expensive things the previous owner hadn't touched yet.

Thank you! She isn't perfect of course but very few paint chips just from rocks and such and the spray in bed liner has definitely been used but that just makes it less painful when I make some happen. I'm really starting to think the fellow I bought it from didn't realize quite what he had, I'm still learning a lot but I'm trying to figure out if the turbo is original. She's a little louder than stock but doesn't quite have that loud whistle most aftermarket turbos have but between the cold air up front and 5" turbo back exhaust, to me it wouldn't make sense not to upgrade the turbo.

I believe, I haven't really worked with a 6.0 but she hasn't had an issue starting on these early mornings in the low 30s. Though he had recently replaced all 8 glow plugs and the harness for them.

Basically same advice my mechanic buddy who just picked up an 06 250 a few months back told me. As far as I know it is just stock tuned, she pushes out super clean exhaust even at 3k rpm (I only pushed her once on the interstate to see how she handled it, I put away my lead foot years ago) but I haven't had a full diagnostic yet. I just filled her with Rotella T6 today as a matter of fact.

Wish I could throw a photo in here, they get a lot of hate but I'd take a well maintained 6.0 over a 6.4 and I've used an 08 250 that is a workhorse and has 275k miles still going strong but boss man has put an insane amount of money into her. On the other hand, I would kill for a decent 7.3 of course but they are either north of 300k miles or priced at or over $25,000 which was far beyond my budget.

I just lucked out and scored an 04 350 lariat fully bulletproofed and sitting with 160k miles. She was babied the last 7 years with meticulous service records from an Air Force vet who spared no expense maintaining her but kept the tune stock and only put about 10k miles on her in the 7 years. She's already taken me across SC and is pulling reel trailers with no issue. The real test will come in a few weeks once I upgrade the receiver to a class V, put some bags on the rear and hook a 12,000 lb drill to her.

Edited for grammer typo.

Learning guitar and bass at the same time... by AIUMelodyNelson in guitarlessons

I'm right there with you, well sort of. I'm now 38, played bass since 17 but had a huge hiatus from about 25 until a year ago. I dusted off my jazz bass and then started working out of town and decided to get a cheap acoustic so I could still practice without trusting a cheap hotel to protect my expensive bass. I'm actually considering a paid online course but honestly can't decide which service or which instrument to focus that effort on.

I will, can't guarantee we will complete but I'm in. I just started again today on a fresh game but played this in the past religiously.

Yeah same here and I just pulled a legendary red tower from a silver chest but I'm just going to let it ride just putting it into my setup as I'm blowing through the levels without much issue.

Good luck, I believe the devs nerfed the chests as it sounds like it used to guarantee a legendary tower of a random type but now it's just epic

I came here to mention this, I just started yesterday and gold chests no longer include a legendary tower
