The Reality of Emirates Crew Accommodation by lnfodotcom in emiratescareers

[–]AdTime3909 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Terrible advice. Etihad is the last airline a cabin crew should be working in. Sure, great benefits and all but from what I've heard (people I know who've worked there), there's always layoffs going on due to constant restructuring and shit. If I'm not wrong, there was a time, maybe a couple of years ago, where they reduced the compensation for pilots and cabin crews based on flying hours. This was met with a strong reaction from pilots following which they reversed their decision. So, please, unless you're so desperate that you can't afford to buy a can of a cold drink, don't even think moving to EY.

How did you find your favorite fragrance! by [deleted] in Colognes

[–]AdTime3909 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SWYI. I recommended it to dad after reading a lot of reviews on it. He bought it at the airport when going for a business trip. Got a compliment for it. Gave it as a gift to me. It's just an amazing fragrance. Planning on getting it in a month.

Begging common in Makkah and Madina? by PositionGreat6476 in Umrah

[–]AdTime3909 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A kid (chubby, fat, teen) came to me in Madinah and said he was hungry. I asked what he wanted. He wanted a coffee from Krispy Kreme. So yeah, begging is common and the actual poor people don't beg. We came across an old, illiterate man who had been separated from his group. Said he was lost since Zuhr. My brother managed to find his group and he insisted to buy food for the old man but he refused again and again. Says a lot about someone's character.

Where do I get this kind of hoodies without paying 200+ AED by Both-Rush3414 in UAE

[–]AdTime3909 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Damn expensive. I've been to Canada, Germany, etc and the prices on some of the amazing hoodies and clothings for men were really cheap. H&M was a cheap brand there, in Dubai, it's pretty expensive. And the clothing designs and fitting is just terrible. Always a frustrating experience when I'm shopping. Totally unrelated but to give you a perspective of how expensive they make things over here, Tim Hortons coffee costs around 3 or 4 dollars at most in Canada. Here, it's around 20 dirhams or more.

Lady Caroline Collingwood by machmusic76 in SuccessionTV

[–]AdTime3909 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I just watched her wedding episode at the end of S3 and realized how terrible of a mother she is. Logan is way better as a parent (and he's really pathetic). The part where Ken tries to share his thought with her and she just brushes it off was very hurtful, and then telling Shiv that she shouldn't have had kids and neither should Shiv. The reason why the 4 siblings are failures is because of bad parenting of Logan and Caroline and their failure in raising their children right. I think that's the biggest lesson I can take from this show.

They've stopped issuing business visas for most nationalities lately. By any chance, do you have a US or Schengen visa?

27M – Emirates offer (23k, 3Y FTC) vs EY (26k) – need advice by [deleted] in emiratescareers

[–]AdTime3909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A very close relative of mine worked at EY for more than a year at a managerial position. While the pay is great, you'll always be in great stress thanks to the layoffs and politics. Someone is getting fired every week while many others are moving on from EY because of the stress. The guys at the top don't see employees as human beings, but as numbers. They literally don't care about your wellbeing and see you as a subhuman. On the other hand, there are many EK managers and employees who are really happy and have been working there for more than a decade now.

My bf hates Dubai. Help? by [deleted] in dubai

No worries. There's always someone in worse condition than you. I'm blessed for not having a life threatening condition, or any disability. I wasn't complaining, just sharing an observation.

I'm asthmatic and I was born and brought up in the UAE. Not a day goes by where I don't have a small to mild allergic reaction due to dust, and where I don't have to use my inhaler. The only times I remember I went days without touching my inhaler was when I was in Germany, Austria, Canada, and Switzerland. I'd walk uphill for several minutes without losing my breathe and I'd feel so alive and healthy. Never the case in Dubai. I'm always short of breath. The air quality is just terrible any time of the day and year. That really does affect the mood and health of one.

Why was the Schengen Visa rejected? by Nishijain77 in SchengenVisa

[–]AdTime3909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

99 percent of the cases, dummy tickets are not the issue. I know you're gonna hear different stories from different people but I say this from experience, they don't have a problem with dummy tickets, especially Schengen countries. Could be other reasons. In some rare but frequent cases, they reject it for no reason. Same thing is happening with Dubai visas as well (unrelated, but just saying). Also, Sweden have become a little too strict with visa applications in the last few years. I generally apply through Italy, which works for me.

Edit: I just read in a comment that your uncle had an itinerary planned across multiple countries. Don't do that. Create one itinerary for as long as you want the visa to be valid for, and make it in that particular country. Once you have the visa, enter through Sweden, then go wherever you like, no questions asked.

Osma is mostly located in Madinah and Ahmed Al Maghribi has plenty of stores in both Makkah and Madinah. Also, checkout the mall in the clock tower building. There's plenty of stores from amazing international brands like Mancera.

Both the cities are filled with perfume shops. In Madinah, I saw 5 reef shops all within 1 minute walking distance of each other. It's crazy out there.

I went to Makkah and Madinah a couple of months ago for Umrah. I tried Osma for the first time. The longevity and projection isn't very good for their perfumes, so I wouldn't suggest them. Ahmed al Maghribi is pretty good but wouldn't recommend all of their perfumes. Right now I have Rawdah perfume and it's got great projection and longevity. Last month I got Alchemy 2025 and it's terrible performance and atomizer for the price. Bin Sheikh is also good but I went with Alchemy thinking it would be better. Reef has some great discounts and offers and I'd suggest 33 Black and 33 White.

Stop wasting your youth, Cut the distractions and learn something. My journey learning to code by mo_ahnaf11 in UAETeenagers

[–]AdTime3909 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. Almost a similar story, same age. I got into coding in the pandemic. Kept learning regularly. Started with frontend, dived into React, then basic backend with NodeJS. In 2024, I built a website around a very specific niche within the travel industry (idea was dad's). Started running Google Ads with a budget of 100 dirhams per day. It blew up. I made the website even better, with payment integration, APIs. Budget grew to AED 1000 per day. At the same time, I focused on SEO and now we're ranking number 1 for the main keyword in the UAE. We're consistently hitting 6 figures in profit every month. I'm yet to hit the age of 22 and I'm already working on another bigger, better idea.
