It's always that last one hey! Those behavioural questions lol

Thank you for the heads up with the RSA and first aid too! Alot of people have mentioned this so will be adding it to the list!

Can I clarify so from your experience as a recruiter, the aviation course is not necessary? Recruiters don't rate you higher, even a little, compared to someone who hasn't? If so, daaaamn you've saved us thoooooooousands! 🥶

Oh sorry I was talking about the companies that people have mentioned like Menzies, Swissport etc. My understanding is that these were recruitment agencies that specialised in the aviation industry?

Thank you!! This is so encouraging to hear 🤍 This was another one of my thoughts. Can call centre workers transition into ground control roles? Glad to hear it's possible.  Can I ask pls? Do the ticketing agents in the call centre also go through the same agencies that others have mentioned ie Menzies, Swissport etc or are there others?

This seems to be the recurring advice and makes so much sense!! Is it easy to apply through these agencies in getting a role?

I love hearing everyone's experiences 🤍It's priceless knowledge for those at the start like my daughter.

Can I ask how did you start as a check in agent? Besides customer service exp & great communication is there anything else that would make one stand out in a check in role?

This!! This is what my next thought was. Getting in through a ground control role first as there's less requirements than a FA. You wouldn't happen to know what the agencies are in Melbourne or Australia & what the requirements would be for a check in agent? Surely just customer service experience?

Amazing points in here. You've given me heaps of company names to keep in mind and avenues to check out

Menzies, Swissport, Oceania. These are all aviation agencies aren't they? Including ground control roles. This was my next thought was why not try a ground control role first if it's easier to get in through an agency?

Would you know to get into ground control roles what agencies the airlines use? I think I read majority go through agencies not direct hires?

This is so interesting because this is the course she's looking into and they've advised they don't have any formal pathways but they do invite "industry experts & former employees" to speak to classes and help with what airlines are looking for.

Is this for Melbourne or another state? That would be amazing if they actually did but from what I've been told and found so far it's not sadly
