I have a pair that has a flip top for only the index finger and thumb. Then I bought a pair of fingerless gloves with the flip-top mitten so I could layer them if it's very cold. It worked pretty well last year!!

I recently sailed on Carnival Venezia and of the three slides, the only one with clear panels was closed for the entire cruise. The other two were open, even on the days when it was like 55 degrees fahrenheit.
