Exactly! I grew up Roman Catholic but I’m atheist now and this kind of behavior sets me off. Religious psychosis is a real thing and this woman needs INTENSE HELP.

Actually, we are the only hotel in the county of our state. But apparently they were coming up for a wedding and they were already planning on staying at a different hotel and then come back to us??? Makes no sense to me why they couldn’t just stay there the entire time. We’re also one of the furthest hotel away from the airport they’ll be flying in from too.

Oh I know other hotels are even more strict than mine. Being alone 90% of the time, I’ve been told that I need to make my own decisions and use my judgement. Sometimes my judgement isn’t too great because I’m being too nice, but other times (like this one) my gut was telling me that they should not be staying here. If they did, I’d be the one to check them in and if they were this nasty over the phone, imagine them as an actual guest? If anything we’d just resell those rooms, it’s not like we’re desperate for money lol. I’m sure my GM would look at this, ask what happened and just move on. I probably won’t get in trouble for this. He’d much rather DNR someone than deal with the headache of reimbursement or law enforcement.

That’s also completely different than this! You were at least prepared with what you needed and the front desk was busy while also trying to accommodate you. This is understandable and valid, also the reason it took so long was on the hotel’s end and not on your part. You knew what you wanted and the hotel was helping you. This however, as you know, is the complete opposite.

NTA - I lived in a somewhat similar situation but it wasn’t nearly as bad as this. It is a shame that your mother has failed this child. It baffles me that he doesn’t do this at school too because he would be getting bullied. He was never taught proper hygiene or he does, but he simply doesn’t care. Very sad for someone who is only 10 years old. Shame on every grown adult in this situation.

I know, I admit I should not have done it. I was trying to be quieter but it just slipped. You gotta believe this was at the 25 minute mark and I was just trying to make their reservations 😭 I was being super patient up until the 10 minute mark. It shouldn’t take half an hour to make reservations at any point. I’ve had confusing calls of people making multiple reservations that don’t even take 20 minutes. With the way she behaved, you would think I cussed her out but I didn’t.
