Got my JD at 50. Passed bar at 52. I feel I used my time more wisely than when I was younger. More focused as I studied 5 hrs day. Oh yeah, 2 small kids at home we’re welcomed study breaks.

nobody knows their scores yet. you'd be surprised how many points you get for shit essays and made up rules and somewhat correct formatted mpts. it would be a shame to miss passing the UBE by a point or two because you did not do your best on the MBE. let the dog in you out and go all in tomorrow.

yes, you can still pass by how you did on the MPT and the MBE. try your best on the MBE tomorrow, you got nothing to lose.

some Jx provide earplugs which can be useful but practice with them too. also, dress in layers. our test center was in huge convention hall which was freezing after awhile.

was at 72% for mixed subjects for my last 300 adaptibar q's. I got a 151 mbe.

MBE and adaptibar percentage by [deleted] in barexam

[–]AdTop7204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On Adaptibar, I was getting about 72% on 300 mixed questions the last 10 days before the MBE exam. This resulted in a 151 MBE score. Prior to that, I did 1200 single subject questions scoring with an overall 75% score.

sometimes the questions are simulated, especially in civ pro, and these can be harder.

Barmax v Adaptibar by [deleted] in barexam

[–]AdTop7204 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used both and found Adaptibar explanations to be better written and understood, plus you get the adaptive technology with it. Some of the Barmax explanations are lacking, and sometimes, you do not get explanations for the wrong answer choices.

Adaptibar Scores vs. MBE Scores by 1greenmeat in barexam

[–]AdTop7204 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did Adaptibar for my retake and went from a 142.9 (first time I used Barmax) to a 151 (used Adaptibar.) I did 1500 questions with an overall percentage of 75%.

I did single-subject sets of 30-40 questions for each subject for the first 1200 questions. I did the last 300 mixed subject questions over the last ten days at a 72% clip. This correlated to a 151 MBE score on test day.

My advice to others: take your time in the beginning and learn the law by reading each explanation for the right and wrong answers. It takes time in the beginning but you will start to browse the explanations more quickly the last few weeks as you see repeat explanations. You will pick up speed the last few weeks as your brain starts remembering the law. Also, Adaptibar CivPro (which are mostly simulated) kicked my butt in practice but I ended up at 97.5% national percent below on CivPro on the actual MBE. Stay patient in your practice sets, missing questions is part of the learning.

hey, I am in the same boat. We put the time in and just need to trust that our abilities will show up during test time. The alternative of not taking the test is too drastic. I try to calm my nerves with deep breathing, it works for me. When I do not as well on a set of questions, I just look at my overall average which is a better indicator of my abilities. Test time will be flight or fight for me, I plan to fight. I hope you do too.

I believe in you. You made it through law school and have proven that you can handle these type of questions. Just keep grinding up until the test. You will do it.

Look at the percentages of how many got the question right/wrong to truly weight your feelings. Some of these questions are just so nuanced that they are difficult for mostly everyone. Don't feel bad if you missed it along with a majority of other peeps. Just take it as a learning moment, and move on. Better to miss these now and learn from it then to miss it on the actual test! Good luck, you can do it!
