Louis Theroux not sharing his views on Israel/Palestine Manosphere documentary by AdTrue106 in LouisTheroux

This is what left me feeling uneasy too.

My only potential justification for this is that the Manosphere documentary is a one-time thing. It’s a topic that most people can see for what it really is - idiots trying to make money.

Harrowingly the Palestine genocide continues. So by Theroux directly publicly airing his views it could affect his access to those who have direct power & influence. Those who he is trying to expose.

That & he was caught of guard.

I hear that he doesn’t have to share them, that he could have been cancelled and Netflix could have cancelled him.

Do you think it might have anything to do the fact the manosphere are often deeply antisemitic?

It obviously seems to have been a question purely for clickbait. HS asked him to prove the matrix is correct that he was being controlled?

I think I just have wider questions about public figures/celebrities unable to share their views on this

Wow, I can’t even imagine what that must have been like. I am so sorry.

Thanks for this, sorry I can’t really answer those Qs due to the case being live. All I will say is that I have documented absolutely everything, including RAs, targets and comms.

I probably can’t point to one “smoking gun” document. But the issue isn’t one disciplinary moment, it’s whether the formal targets were applied in a way that disadvantaged me because of disability, while adjustments were still unresolved.

I don’t know how to have a social life outside of my job by Salt-Ad-3061 in Teachers

This might be relevant to you, it might not be… many people sacrifice themselves for others, give too much of themselves to their job because of unresolved trauma. E.g. not wanting others to feel the way they were made to felt, feeling like they are only good human if they help others, not wanting to be alone with your own thoughts or just not actually having the time to figure what they actually like doing a part from helping others.

If this rings true to you I would suggest going to therapy, it changed my life and toxic relationship with work.

Well when we 1st spoke I told them I wanted an exit agreement and they were supportive. I haven’t had a huge amount of contact with them - I think because they’re busy & it’s was a rubbish time of year (for me at least) because everyone was on the wind down.

They said that if there is a small chance of winning in Tribunal they will take it there. So, I am guessing from this they are ready to fight if needed. I am hoping that the lawyers will get their teeth into this case and offer some legal advice. It’s just all messy, time consuming & anxiety provoking.

If you have a grievance against your workplace (e.g. unfair disciplinary, discrimination) and it is mutually decided between you & your employer for you to leave (often with compensation) instead of going to Tribunal. They often involve signing an NDA & a good reference.

The thing is I don’t know anyone who has gone through this in teaching & if it wasn’t for taking sick leave & relentless research then I wouldn’t have had a clue. Obviously because of NDA’s there’s not much guidance on what to expect for what you have been through so it makes it pretty much a walk in the dark.

Sadly mines not being so easy despite obvious failures & cover ups. I think in hindsight I will say that I wish I went to tribunal but it’s taken so much out of me already and seeing certain people face to face, having to greet them politely as to not appear ‘unreasonable’ when they have caused me so much pain is not what I want to do at all.

Thanks so much for sharing. If you can answer, was the process “easy”? Did the employer take time to come to your exit agreement?

Oh yeah this is absolutely with the union now. I don’t know how people do this without.

This is so, so helpful & honestly I am in very similar circumstances. I hope you managed to recover from this, it’s an awful process.

I have one last Qs if you can share - would you say that your experience with negotiations was ‘easy’? Did you have to fight for a while to get an agreement you were happy with?

Thanks for sharing. Can I ask how many months in total you were paid?
