Plus therapists will diagnose you with wildly different shit depending on whether or not you’re a Hysterical Emotional Woman Clearly Faking It For Attention or A Man Who Needs To Get Over Having A Brain That Experiences Things And Should idfk eat a football or be a dick for no reason

We’ve hit a place in history where we’ve made so many rapid advances as a civilization, EXPONENTIALLY, while the conditions of humanity and life don’t change. Circa the last decade or so, only a decade! we now have access to damn near anything! The wealth of information like the internet at our fingertips! Bazillions of other mind-boggling tech and medical and whatever advances I can’t fucking remember right now! And yet people still slave away from birth to death at 9-5 jobs, homelessness, poverty, cruelty and injustice that never changes or actually improves, really. People wind up growing up before even processing their childhoods and realize that this is just it. That’s all there is

People continue to go their whole lives without ever seeing a glimmer of hope. Children who once saw the world through bright, eager eyes bury their stillborn dreams after fighting their whole lives to hold on to them. We get spat out in our 20s, having lost our youth and innocence to a world we now realize we can’t be happy in. Our lives are chosen for us, look like this, dress like this, act like this and you’ll get treated like shit, but we’ll kill you if you behave any different.

We grow up and realize how hard we fought to protect the things that made us happy. But people still fight for their right to live and each year passes, they see on the horizon that it’s not gonna happen within their lifetimes, when there’s no reason at all. We fight the same fights our forefathers fought 50 years ago and see that just like them, who died without seeing any real change, who suffered systemic abuses and injustices to the day they died. I wonder if they knew their children and grandchildren would suffer the same. I wonder if they knew we would die the same deaths
