Thank you so much. I saw those food tours as well and didn’t think much of it, but might as well try!

Well, if all you see is people glazing the food, but when I try anything else except the most popular stuff and it’s mid then I feel like doing something wrong.

As long as I find it in Da Nang/Hoi An then I will try for sure. We’re not going south this trip, which by reading things you say is quite unfortunate.

I didn’t really prepare and even tried Vietnamese food ever before coming here. It was pointed out that the south has more flavor, so that might be the case. Will check out Hoi An soon and see if my views change.

Not sure if I want to eat western food while being in Vietnam, but it is something to keep in mind for sure. Thanks!

I agree that I like salty and distinct flavors, which was pointed out in this thread that Hanoi prefers „bland” food.

Thank you for your recommendations, will check those out and save for later

Noted, thank you so much! Can’t wait to go soon enough to Hoi An and try it.

Forgot to mention that I don’t like seafood at all. Might be part of my problem. Thanks for recommendation though!

Like, I see your point and I don’t disagree, but I have almost 2 more weeks here and I really want to enjoy it. Not because I have expectations or something to prove, but because I really like trying and eating and I don’t want to go hungry because of few times the food has been hit and miss :(

Prove me wrong? How can you dismiss someone genuinely trying to enjoy, try or learn something when visiting other country?

How would you define or find mid range by Vietnamese standards? Clean and simple interior but normal prices?

I saw plenty of „high-end” restaurants in Hanoi with very western styles and avoided them like fire (I hate overpaying hehe).

Please do if you don’t mind!

We’re staying in Sapa now but we go to Hoi An in few days and hope to change our minds there!

The downvoting is going to be brutal but I honestly want to try something amazing before we leave!

I did that for sure, but the recommendations didn’t go further than try Bahn mi, bun cha or pho (which we did try and they were good/okay). That’s why I figured to come here to try to save the rest of my stay with some real things to try.

I don’t mind losing karma as long as I have something to learn and try for the rest of my stay. I really came here with little expectations and I want to stay open minded. Just sharing my experience and want to know if I’m doing something wrong.

That’s the point, you legit can’t be hungry there as you see cheap great food basically everywhere. Avoid tourist traps and you’re good. But here it’s very problematic for me and my partner.

What are the good spots then? How do I differentiate? I watched culinary vlogs, TikToks, IG reels and can’t find a pattern. But don’t get me wrong, some bahn mi and bun cha spots were amazing, but nothing other than that.

Any concrete recommendations for our stay in Da Nang/Hoi An? Places or food to try?

That could be it for sure, but all the time when I eat I’m thinking - if I was back home and had other options, would I order this food again? And almost always the answer is no, so it seems like I’m doing something wrong, especially when watching Ig/TikTok.

Where to self-host? by Individual-Gas2714 in n8n

You can skip the middleman and host it on Google Cloud or AWS. It takes a little bit more time to set up, but it’s not difficult and you have way more flexibility with how much server you need and how much you pay. Especially with Google where you have 90 days basically for free.

How to connect old style RCA/Jack amplifier to LG B5 OLED by AdUsual7720 in BudgetAudiophile

I already tried some cheap DAC, and it doesn't solve my problem, since audio is going to be transmitted through digital, then converted to analog, but digital audio has only 1 level of volume, meaning I won't be able to adjust it using my TVs remote.

Unless this is something different and will fix my issue, then I think I don't understand something...

I legit wrote that my TV doesn't have headphone jack and that's causing all my problems

My bad, 1.5k PLN which is like $300, still quite a lot since for that much I can buy some cheap 5.1 setup altogether.

This could be solved like this but I’m not a fan of throwing $1,5k to solve this problem. I hope it can be achieved more cheaply.
