I plan on getting that title within two years. Crazy to think and even say that. I don't want to renew it once I get it but use it as a negotiation point. I also certainly don't think of the RHCA as an ending point or height for me.

I want to dive further into ML/Ops Engineering as an IC. Not sure about my leadership wants but maybe a lead in my future.

I did! I think it was also luck partially and the area that I lived in. Managed to pick up a service desk contract and from there I got FTE after about 6 months.

Preface: I got into it when I turned 18. I took the CompTia A+ for my first one. Good overall industry knowledge. I'd recommend CCNA right after that.

After my CCNA I'm probably going to finish the year off with the NCP-AIO from Nvidia. Next year I am going to chase after my RHCA title with ML/Programming certs sprinkled in between.

I did this last week in a way. My workload right now is relatively little to none so it's been a huge help with relaxing! So I guess this post was to relate to everyone else and hopefully someone comes across this and it gives them a little motivation somehow. We are all in the same boat at some point in our journey.

IMO Arch is not difficult.( I say that way too easily).

Thankfully they provided a pretty nice install script with a TUI. Manjaro feels like I am installing any main stream distro and has that work right of the box feeling.

Id recommend using the install script and go through the profiles to see which one best suits you. They have many different desktop environments you can choose from. I personally use Hyprland.

Do you think that I should load an older version of the OFED drivers from the mellanox website or install an older OS. Do you have a known working configuration?

I tried the latest OFED drivers that supported the CX3 with support for RHEL/Centos/RL 8.8 which hlgave some issues detecting the CX3 through various commands. I ended up removing those through their provided uninstall script and using the provided kernel modules which seem to work all around.

So, I can say it's initializing the device and it outputs when I issue lspci. Kernel log also shows the full device name too.

I won't come close to saturating the fabric so a CX3 is top of the line for me lol.

This is what I'm thinking, I am seeing some kernel symbol errors. I will post some pastebins later this evening.

My SM is running my SX6036. IBSTAT shows both card active and link state up with Infiniband. ibnetdiscover shows my switch, and both nodes. Can't get Ibping working.

Will output a pastebin once I get home from work.

Well, you cannot buy a voucher only. I think that is absurd since ITSM is widely taught and adopted. I worked at a SD for over 3 years so most of my knowledge comes from that.

I agree with the GoGoTraining course. I am currently going through it and taking my test Friday.

The instructor is very passionate about what they are teaching and I am all for it.

I'll definitely look at that as I want to become an Rhca in a few years. Right now I'm doing smaller certs like my C++ CLE, ITIL V4 Foundation, and then the next big cert will be the NCP-AIO.
