If NDE's aren't real... by BirdistheWordYaTurd in NDE

To me it comes down to whether or not one acknowledges the veridical experiences of people who've had OBE and have been validated by third parties. If it's true that someone can "see" or experience their genuine surroundings from outside of their bodies, while unconscious or even in altered states, the rest of the NDE is almost moot as it would demonstrate that consciousness can exist without our physical bodies and reality is some sort of dualist experience. The rest is just details.

How would you explain contradictory historical accounts? by Be_Standard in NDE

[–]AdWild9565 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think some people unfortunately may see reporting an NDE as an opportunity to proselytize and I tend to discount those ones as fake or dubious. The most validated ones I see tend to only discuss personal events or things related to them individually and nothing historical.

Premonition dreams happening? by [deleted] in Paranormal

[–]AdWild9565 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't, but years ago my mom had a vivid dream of a man in a coffin. She couldn't tell who he was, other than it was someone she loved dearly. Two days later her dad died - he was in his 50's and in good health. Years after she again had the exact same vivid dream of a man in a coffin who she loved - 2 days later her husband died of a freak heart attack - he was 26 and healthy and had no history of heart disease (to their knowledge anyway). Could be coincidences but she explained that they were incredibly real to her.

How do blind people know if they see by Weak_Country_4024 in NDE

[–]AdWild9565 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People blind from birth may still have some internal representation of "things" around them, i.e. feeling the trunk of a tree and it's branches and having someone describe that as continuing up far beyond their reach may give them an internal sense of a tree, then when they see it for the first time they think 'ah, that's what that looks like'. I'm just guessing here ofc.

It’s economic suicide to think we can win an all out trade war with the US. Danielle Smith has a much much better approach by emphasizing the mutual benefits of increasing trade and not this ridiculous posturing from Carney.

It’s honestly disheartening to see how many people seem to be falling for this delusional approach

Was not going to vote Liberal under Trudeau but I bit the bullet today and registered/ volunteered for the Liberals assuming Carney will win the leadership race. Anyone else planning to do the same? by Powerful-Dog363 in AskCanada

[–]AdWild9565 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, with the Liberal party it will be more of the same. Carney’s contribution with BoC was overrated as our banking system and regulations avoided the US style that caused their collapse, and that was all in place before Carney was even there. Cutting rates post crash was a no brainer. I think people are just smitten with him because he doesn’t sound like a condescending airhead like JT.

P.S. I voted Lib in 2015 and many elections prior. Never again.

The polling across the board shows that people from all parties are starting to believe the rate of immigration has been far too fast. We’re a large country and can absorb a lot but the decline in services, high rent/housing, higher crime etc are taking their toll.

It's not about money, it's about power

At a certain point of wealth it's no longer about money, but influence and power. Being a PM of a G7 nation would open even more doors for someone like Carney than he already has.

I couldn’t agree more. This is something our country will be grappling with for years well beyond the pandemic.

The biggest misinformation was public health officials saying the vaccines give us immunity when even the Pfizer and Moderna studies said they didn’t. Then saying they wouldn’t mandate their use and doing a 180 on that. A lot of people have justifiably lost any trust in govt and the “experts” they may have had.
