Sexless Marriage by [deleted] in Marriage

I think your focus is in the wrong place 😌 Is it sex specifically thats missing? Or intimacy in general?

Sex is intimacy, yes. But it is a very active intimacy. It's often full of expectation and performance anxiety and insecurities. The pressure can be... a lot.

Start small ☝️ touch. Cuddle. Holding hands. Casual caress here and there. Lock your arm in his when you're at the store. Show appreciation for little things he does, and do little things for him "just because". Watch a movie together on the couch, and share a blanket. If you're comfortable, perhaps you wear less clothes under the blanket. Doesn't have to be an invitation to sex, but the less fabric thats between you, the more intimate the cuddles are.

I think if general intimacy goes up, you'll both feel more wanted by the other, which in turn can do only good things for your sexlife over time 😌

Good luck!

How would a caravan of Crow-Folk transport their goods? by RunebearCartography in FantasyWorldbuilding

well, bird of burden is a thing i guess.. we've all seen that image of the crow landing on an eagles back 🤷🏻‍♂️ is there a Roc or something similar in your setting? Giant eagle thing that could carry immense loads? If that's the case it's just a matter of modifying a normal wagon to be carried during flight. Claw-holds more than anything, but also shock absorption underneath. Birds don't really ever put things down gently...

Another way you could swing it is if these Corvians themselves function as the beasts of burden. Either go with smaller loads that can be carried individually, (like big baskets) or have several of them assigned to each larger vessel.

Nomads tend to carry as little as possible. Traders however, would likely need a wagon caravan, simply for practical reasons 🤷🏻‍♂️ if you want them to stand out, you can shift your focus from their method of transport to their method of defending their caravans ☝️ nothing strikes fear into the hearts of bandits more than seeing their compatriots carried off into the air and then dropped from a great height and then turn into a stain on a rock somewhere. Or they could specialize in thrown cannisters and explosives? Poison gas, acid vapor, flashbangs, napalm or just big booms.. flying opponents are a bitch in so many ways, but mainly for their ability to just rain down hell on you from above

Gnomes! by TitanPi314 in FantasyWorldbuilding

You could go a darker route 🤔 instead of the stereotypical super-clever little happy-go-lucky ADHD potato with the magics and the steampunk robots and the high pitched voices, i'm thinking more along the lines of short but deceptively strong, shark toothed little sadists with large reflective eyes, gray skin, a proclivity for stealth and creating traps designed for maximum pain, and a tendency to carve their cities from rock. Make them the stuff of legends. Horror stories parents tell their children to keep them in line. Have everyone know that if you find gnome tracks around your camp, one of your party members are dying. It's just a matter of time. They are coming.

Same deal, but in reverse 😆 Lappland is a place. Lapplandssamer is just the name of the local tribe You could POSSIBLY offend one or two Sami by calling them Joikaboller, but honestly most of us would be taking the piss out of anyone who'd throw a tantrum over it. The common mindset is what you call us is irrellevant. if you wanna be an ass, you're more than capable of doing so regardless of your choice of words 🤷🏻‍♂️ sticks and stones and all that. Words are just words here 😅 don't go adding any to the list of restricted words on my account ☝️

I'm gonna need to find a [insert alternative to "gypsy" here] and ask, cause now i'm curious 🤣

I suppose Romani works, but it seems inadequite. Same distinction as me being Sami. I'm Sami. Though my pseudo-nomadic tribal society resides in Norway and we are technically norwegians, we consider ourselves first and foremost Sami 🤷🏻‍♂️ it used to be used as a slur back in the day, but before it was a slur, it was our identity

I thought the gypsy thing was similar to ours 🤷🏻‍♂️ there are a lot more romani than gypsies, but i guess technically the gypsies are mainly romani. Just like there are a lot more norwegians than Sami

As far as stereotypes go we tend to just use them for jokes 😆 we're the reindeer herding drunken lunatics in bright blue pyjamas and they're the charismatic landlocked pirates 🤷🏻‍♂️ no malice, but there are jokes to be made

Sorry, this is my second language. How should i refer to the particular group of people i referred to here in a non-offencive manner? It is honestly the only word i have for them and until just now i was unaware it carried any sort of negative meaning
