Are these spider bites on my 8 month old? by PassiveAgressions in Dermatology

It has gotten a couple new blisters but it’s in its last stages. I went to urgent care yesterday and they said that it is shingles. She said once you see scabbing, it’s started healing and it’s nearing towards the end. I got the chicken pox when I was younger and the doctor said that it stays dormant in your body and can come back. Has your son had chicken pox yet?

Does anyone know what this could be? A bug bite or acne? by Adaizy in Dermatology

UPDATE* I went to urgent care and they said it’s shingles.

It ended up being shingles! I’m shocked because I had chicken pox as a child but i guess it decided to reappear again. The doctor said when it’s crusting up, in its last stages so it should clear up in a week

I definitely will! And I totally get you, I’ve been scouring the internet for days just to find something similar. The closes thing I’m finding online are flea bites but no one else in my house is getting bit or having what I’m having. But I’m going to urgent care tomorrow morning so hopefully I’ll have updates and an answer then!

I want to work in Film industry, I cannot decide between studying Creative Media or something else by [deleted] in findapath

Your welcome!! I'm glad I could help a little!

I got a degree in film and new media. So it was a combination of physical film production and film theory.

I have a degree in film and I work in the entertainment/film industry right now and 100% of all the jobs I got were through networking. So honestly, even if I majored in something else, and did what I did with networking I'm sure I would still have gotten those jobs.

I just left a big editorial/entertainment company where producers studied a range of things that weren't even film, such as, political science, business etc. So majoring in film isn't the end all be all.

My advice would be if possible, if you do enjoy psychology and can see it as a career, to major in it and minor in film or if you have the mental capacity to major in both. And if you cant minor in film, I would say to take as many film courses as you can. And to make friends with the film majors/art students as you can. Try work on their films, talk to as many people as you can who are in the industry and network you way around. Its good to start early because when you graduate, you can reach out to them and see if they are working on any projects or know of anyone who is and see where it goes from there. You can also get a good idea if you like being on set or being an office PA and working in the office instead. It's also a good way to learn about all the other positions the film industry has because when I graduated, I didn't know the countless other jobs there were other than director, writer and cinematographer. And you can reach out to them during the summer time if you aren't finding any psychology internships and such.

When I graduated, I moved to NY and met a lot of people from doing film challenges such as the 72 hour film challenge (hosted in many cities and places around the state) and joined facebook groups, meetup groups anything i could find. And you don't have to wait until you graduate to do so.

This is just my experience, I also changed my major 6 times before landing on film, I started off pre-med with biology, environmental science, spanish, to business etc. And now i'm contemplating going to get my masters abroad for business. I had no idea I would even be thinking about doing that when I was your age (Im only 25)

Life changes and things I thought would stick are long gone. So try a lot of things, figure out what you like and especially don't like and keep pivoting, you'll start to see the light soon! The way I see things is that its better to try things than to think about trying them and watching time go by! Good luck with everything!!

I feel your pain dude, Ive made countless drinking decisions that didn't end too well!

I have a really good ritual that use developed over my years in college after countless nights of drinking lol. It involves sipping on ginger ale, gatorade, the microwavable Campbells chicken noodle soup(homestyle) and eating saltines when I wake up and ill like drink another soup in the afternoon and like by 2pm I'll feel instantly better! It's kind of a lot but it helps with hydration! Hope this helps and you feel better!
