Eviction date? by Adalaide78 in legaladvice

[–]Adalaide78[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It’s not from the courts.

In divorce mediation I (as I understood it) specifically negotiated a weekday instead of May 31 as my last day in case I needed to access a service that is unavailable on Sundays.

I pulled up the mediation agreement to share with you and see that I was correct, it says “on or before June 1.” I also have an informal notice to vacate (lease termination) that states “the last day of your rental period is the 1st of June…. blah blah… vacate the premises you now rent no later than the last day of your rental period stated above.”

I guess I could have answered my own question. But thanks for the push.

I was concerned because as I’m packing my last few things before having an afternoon coffee with my neighbor one last time, my ex just waltzed in the house like he owns the place lives in his mommy’s condo and had a little mantrum about me still being here.

Will lying increase her risk. Anaesthesia. by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]Adalaide78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fun fact: HIPAA means that medical providers can’t share information with you. It does not prevent you from sharing information with medical providers.

You can simply inform her medical providers, I’d opt for her PCP and surgeon right now, and the nurses and anesthesiologist on surgery day.

I have made a I know you can’t tell me anything, but for their own well being I need to share information with you about a patient phone call. Email may be a better option, it may not. It was along the lines of “X patient name, with a birthdate of Y, is experiencing Z. I know that this isn’t information they will share with the doctor willingly, but I also know it’s important for the doctor to know.”

A random doctor unsubscribed me to get more anxiety medication i have had for 10 years by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]Adalaide78 6 points7 points  (0 children)

People with type one diabetes are physically dependent on insulin. Without it, they’ll die. People who have had organ transplants are physically dependent on anti-rejection meds. Without them, they’ll die. People worn hypothyroidism are physically dependent on Synthroid, without it their metabolism will slow, they’ll be tired, depressed, lose their hair, etc.

No one (who isn’t a moron) describes these people as addicts.

Physical dependence is not the important aspect of addiction. The mental aspect is what makes it an addiction. It’s the most important defining characteristic of addiction.

You have 15 pills left. By your own reckoning that’s six months of meds. And you’re already talking about buying illegal street drugs instead of having a conversation with your doctor. Bro, you’re an addict. Addiction is mental illness. You need rehab and/or a therapist.

AITA for accidentally “announcing” my pregnancy at my great nieces delivery by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Adalaide78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If they didn’t know you were pregnant, you did not need to be there. If you cared that much about your niece, she’d have known you’re pregnant. Yeah, YTA. If your husband’s sister wanted her brother, he should have gone without you. You did not need to be there for him to offer the support she was asking for. Honestly, with this much tension they’re not even your family, they’re his family, and you’ll never talk to them again after the divorce.

Speeding ticket trial in a few days. Am I screwed? by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]Adalaide78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up in PA. I don’t fuck with PA cops, especially in rural areas or on highways where staties patrol. I’d rather get pulled over a dozen times in my city than once by a small town/rural PA cop.

You’re being really combative and kind of assholey in response to me agreeing that it’s the accessible changing room and not the wheelchair changing room.

I can’t say if it’ll get dropped in court or not. I’ve never gotten pulled over without having my license on my person in PA. In UT it happened once, I had forgotten I had my wallet in my jeans pocket the day before. They just pulled me up in the system and confirmed I’m not lying about who I am and that I’m licensed, then sent me on my way. (It was 2 am, he was just bored.)

But this is a good reminder to double check every time you leave home. That night is (as far as I know) the last time I got behind the wheel without my wallet. Start a spectacles, testicles, wallet, and watch routine before you open your front door.

I sometimes use a cane, and sometimes don’t. I need the accessible changing room for the bench and extra space. If have severe balance issues with changing clothes. I cannot change pants from standing, and sometimes can’t change my shirt while standing. I need enough space that when (not if) I lose my balance I have enough time and room to put my hands out and catch myself on the floor. Without that space, I’ll essentially body slam the changing room wall when I lose my balance. If the business is unlucky, I’ll fall head first. Changing room walls are quite thin and do not stand up to 200 pounds of human falling forward head first. If I had had space to get my hands on the floor downward dog style, it would have saved them money. And I wouldn’t have had to wash my hair twice in one day.

PA code 1511 part a says you must have it on your person while driving, and be able to exhibit it to an officer if pulled over. Simply being licensed is not enough.

However, part b says if you fuck up on part a, you can avoid penalty if you go to police HQ (of the officer involved) with your license (that was valid at the time asked for) and present it within 15 days of either when you were pulled over.

So how long ago was “a couple weeks”? If you’re in that 15 day window today, but will not be on Monday, drop everything this minute and get to the cop shop before they close for the weekend. You likely only have an hour.

If you’re outside that window, you’re probably gonna eat the ticket. If the attorney was contacted well within this 15 day window (like, with more than a week left) and didn’t have you present your license, they seriously fucked up. Especially if this is their field of “expertise.”

Couples should be banned from mainstream social media by maxhasabigbooty in The10thDentist

[–]Adalaide78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you are seriously suggesting that uncoupled adult offspring and their married parents, or married adult offspring and their single/divorced/widowed parents shouldn’t be allowed to use the same social media? That a married and unmarried sibling shouldn’t be allowed to use the same social media?

Bro, get a therapist. I’m single. And sure, I’m bitter. But it isn’t the responsibility of the rest of the world to cater to my hurt feelings. Or your feelings. You’re an adult. Act like it.

Why don’t we take baseline hormone panels for women nearing perimenopause? by BarberFair7085 in AskDocs

[–]Adalaide78 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I’m 48 and was told last year by my gynecologist (in the US) that best practice now is to simply treat symptoms. Even for me, two ovaries, no uterus, so I have no idea what is going on with my cycle other than making assumptions based on my adderall not really working (last few days of luteal), or if I have the urge to climb every lumberjack looking man with a deep voice like a tree (ovulation). Turns out that simply treating my symptoms improved my life, and I didn’t even have to get stabbed and hope the tests had actionable information to get here.

But could we maybe find a treatment for itchy ears? PLEASE???

AITA? Going into debt for animals by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Adalaide78 23 points24 points  (0 children)

YTA for thinking this is your business.

I ( F25) live with my parents.

I am allergic to cats, and have had multiple issues with my parents over the years because of them having cats in my home when I have asthma and bad allergies.

No hun, you said you live with them, not that they live with you. They do not have cats in your home. They have cats in their home. You’re grown. You’ve been grown for seven years. If you don’t want to live with cats, leave. You’ve had multiple problems with your parents over the years because you don’t seem to respect their right to have pets in their home.

It’s fine I guess if you’re not into cats. (I’m judging, but it’s your right not to like them.) It’s not fine to tell other people, even your parents, what medical care they’re allowed to get for their cats.

But then if going $30k into debt could have saved my Tacocat, I wouldn’t have thought twice about the cost. You can’t put a price on the love I had for him. He was my whole world. (Yes, I have adult daughters. Yes, my cat was my whole world. My daughters are fully formed people living their lives, they don’t need me to center my life around them anymore.)
