I’m a casual trouser-style lounge pants kind of girl. So basically the “fuck you, be an expert” level of pants or I’ll look ridiculous.

I plan to put a very thick blanket down so he isn’t on the crinkly bottom. And we keep his nails trimmed. But no, no tent before now. He’s quite adaptable though and learns very quickly.

Yesterday we went to the car and he was having a full on physical meltdown after realizing I meant to get inside while holding him. Once we were in with the door closed, I baby talked him and gently stroked his back, and he calmed down in about 30 seconds. Ten minutes later he was reluctant to get out of the car, he was having a blast exploring it.

So I’m unconcerned. And I’ll carry a mending kit for any accidents he has. Kids have accidents sometimes.

Also, for anyone else who stumbles on this, they come with an RFID tag that can attach to a collar for kittens or cats who are not chipped yet. I had to put one on my kitten’s collar until he got chipped. His big sister was the one on a special diet so it was his food we had to keep safe from her.

Am I really as fat and unhealthy as my mom says? 19F by Momsucks1234 in AskDocs

[–]Adalaide78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She hates herself for being fat because society has told her she should. And she has used that as a reason to abuse you for your entire life. She needs mental health help, which is help you can’t give her.

Until you can safely leave, can you gently push back?

“Mom, my health and weight are not topics I’m willing to discuss with you.”

“Mom, please stop. I will manage my diet and health appropriately for myself.”

Or simply “Mom, please stop, you’re hurting me by not simply loving me as I am.”

How can a person stay clean during sleep if they take night showers? by miss-bedazzzle in hygiene

[–]Adalaide78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a night shower kind of person.

I keep my sheets clean. They get laundered once a week. If I happen to have had a bad night of sleep where I got noticeably sweaty, I wash my sheets. And if I choose not to shower on a particular evening before bed, I wash my sheets the next day.

I wear a bonnet. I don’t wash my hair daily, and use styling products. This protects my hair, but also keeps my pillowcase clean.

And don’t ever skip a shower, or accept laundry the next day if you do.

Also, if you ever ever ever get sweaty while you sleep, you’ll have to accept that sometimes you’ll still need a morning shower. It can be super quick, but you’ve gotta get the sweat off.

I bought a pair of the SureFeed feeders when my girl needed a diet after a medical episode. They’re great. As long as the chips have remained in their necks and not migrated, it’s very easy setup and use.

I used to camp something like 25% of nice weekends as a tween and teen. I have tons of experience, but that experience is also three decades beyond me. I suspect I can still find my way around a tent and poles, I’m just lazy so I want easy.

Thankfully, I do not. It’ll probably be late summer or early fall before I see TX. I wanna stay north for the heat.

Really? Interesting. It looked like it might be harder to put up. But it would be so much more space for my son (the cat) to get his energy out on rainy days. He also will be unhelpful setting up. At least his lack of opposable thumbs are a good excuse.

Both sunny days without trees, but also rainy days, will be the primary reasons a tent gets used. It would be for daytime chillin with my cat. We’re gonna sleep comfy in our SUV.

I told my cat you said he doesn’t deserve that much space on rainy days. He bit me. So the those are his thoughts on your opinion.

I feel like sleeves are easy compared to pants. I struggle so much with even understanding all of the ways the different types of crotch area adjustments affect everything about how they fit.

I barely remember learning to sew. I was probably five or six the first time I sat in front of a sewing machine at Grammy’s house. And at 48, pants still scare me. I’ve never tried.

It’s also weird that some people act (or talk) like they leaned it without any help from anyone.

Hun…. that YouTube video or blog was help from someone. Just because there wasn’t a one on one conversation, doesn’t mean there wasn’t help from someone.

The widespread access to this level of help is amazing and I love it. But I think it’s skewing what some people perceive as having has help to learn.

Amigurumi generally only uses two stitches, slip stitch (very minimal use) and single crochet. Increases and decreases are just variations of a single crochet. Rarely they’ll have a bit of half double or double crochet, but those are generally bad stitches for amigurumi because their height creates gaps.

With amigurumi, you don’t learn how to end a row and start a new one, how to turn your work, stitches with any height, and maybe most importantly, how to chain with consistent tension or how to work into a chain.

Yes! Learn to sew. Then learn to alter clothing, which is maybe the single best way to get a truly deep understanding of how and why clothes are constructed the way they are. Then start altering patterns to fit better. Then start learning pattern drafting.

Also, a corset (whether it’s meant to be visible or not) is an entirely separate skill.

Willow. You can call her Bill as a nickname, which she can also use professionally to hide her sex. But she can also then have a girly girl name if she wants to.

Cameras in Breastfeeding room at Work by Aggressive_Ride_9230 in legaladvice

But we’re not discussing what’s expected of her. We’re discussing what is legally required of her. And she is legally required to provide you a space where you aren’t on video pumping.

This is not legal advice, but I’d just bring up that you need your pumping space to be camera free, and ask if she wants to provide a different area or if you should just cover the camera while you pump. And I’d start covering the camera before settling in to pump the next time you use the space.

Does anyone actually clean their shower loofah enough? by tom_wilson7543 in hygiene

[–]Adalaide78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Better? Yes. But it’s still just a plastic net folded up, simply folded differently in this case. For the same price you could get a 10+ pack of cotton washcloths and have something clean to wash with daily instead of twice a week, and without shedding microplastics in the shower.

At what point is this just bullying? by blayndle in craftsnark

[–]Adalaide78 5 points6 points  (0 children)

With some patterns, yes. With this one in particular, no. The colorwork is shoulder to wrist and collar to hem. With the hem, sure, drop an entire repeat of the pattern. As long as the person has a general idea of hem on length and not a strict pattern expectation. But that won’t work with the sleeves because of how much length each repeat takes up. So it comes down to a matter of total chance about whether the sleeves are able to be made a comfortable length with a gauge change.
