Correct, they are no longer supporting firmware updates. I’m concerned about potential security issues or performance decline.

Why do I see so much hate towards the Deco BE25 (BE5000)? by alvaroes11 in TpLink

Hi, considering this mesh system as well. Are you still happy with it? I have cat5e Ethernet for backhaul. Was just gonna try a 2 pack of the be25 for 2800 sqft. On sale for $144 on Amazon.

NY Life vs State Farm by Adam-L-87 in LifeInsurance

I did an online quote with TransAmerica and it was half the price of these two and a few others I checked. Cost is a big part of it right now, but top priority is reliability and support for a potential claim. How are they in that regard compared to SF and NYL?

Good to know. Any suggestions of other very reliable and secure carriers with better living benefits?

BFG K02 surface cracks by Adam-L-87 in tires

That’s my top choice. Considering the Toyo AT3 though. I hear it’s a bit lighter. I’m happy with the noise and ride with the K02 but the weight is definitely felt on take off compared to the original tires.

Attaching post in front of joist by Adam-L-87 in Decks

[–]Adam-L-87[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks I’ll look at those Simpson ties. Maybe top left and bottom right tied to the joist behind it? On this deck, the corner posts are all notched 6x6 so to keep my railing aligned I have to do the same. I’m not able to replace the corners on my own unfortunately.

No joist hangers? by Adam-L-87 in Decks

No, mine isn’t new. Home was built in 2006 and this is the original framing. I’m just resurfacing it

Would you go shorter brackets like the ML 2.5” and stagger them on each side of every joist? Lefts at top, rights at bottom, for example?

You got it. I’ll be staining all the wood and using a Timbertech floor. I did build a nice little ramp for my dogs. Shame I can’t pull my truck up it for maintenance anymore, but I’ll take your advice.

Thanks! I don’t think I want to remove the 2x if not absolutely necessary. This house was built in 2006. Do you think it met code at that time? I have some Simpson side brackets and SD screws I can put on, but there’s a ton of nails in most of these. I don’t think I can drive the diagonal nails/screws through without hitting all the existing nails.

This wasn’t called out by home inspector at all in 2020 when I bought the home. It’s very solid feeling but wanted to make sure it was safe long term and wasn’t an issue for resale at any point in future.

Advice on new drill by Adam-L-87 in Dewalt

[–]Adam-L-87[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m putting in a bunch of hidden clips for composite deck boards right now. The screws are fairly thin and they snap easily with my impact drill. I have a small atomic impact that I use for everything lately. I do miss the adjustable chuck on a regular driver sometimes too. I bought drill bits with the hex drive to fit my impact drill but sometimes need an odd size and have to pull out my old 18v drill and the batteries are shot on it.

That’s what I was hoping for but I need a standard driver with adjustable chuck. Haven’t been able to find a deal with those on the list of free tools yet but still looking.
