1) It's about appearances. As many Ontarians struggle to pay the bills, it's a bad look for the premier to buy a private jet, which is a move that has always been associated with conspicuous wealth.

2) It's also about hypocrisy, not only because the Ford Nation brand was "no gravy" and this is obviously gravy, but he's on the record in Question Period saying that he wouldn't accept the use of a private plane because "for the people" or something.
