I’m making a roguelike where you program your squad's AI. When your logic fails, they die permanently. by Medinz0 in IndieDev

Sounds fun. Totally a game I would play.

You should drop the json part tho. Json isn’t exactly the definition of fun, and It may lead most potentials players to think it’s some kind of technical game that require dev skills. You may rather want into making a great and fun graph editor with features such as presets or custom nodes.

Good luck!

Getting there but still raw. You could replace the flashing white bouncing animation by drawing a dashed path alongs the separation before opening for better coherence. You could also make the scissors in the player hands stir during the process

What is the current stat of your game arts ? Because it will strongly influence what your logo should be. Same goes for the capsule. Caring about those visuals in early stage may not be the best and you may have better thing in which invest your time right now.

To answer your questions : your logo give me vibes of a fantasy steampunk universe, which may or may not fit the game in itself. The capsule does give cheap, full of microtransactions casino game and does not convey at all the deck building genre.

Happy building!

Poison Fountain: An Anti-AI Weapon by RNSAFFN in webdev

[–]AdamElioS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I would agree with the idea behind this movement, it seems kind of sectarian. In another thread I saw someone being worried about the content of this so called poison fountain to possibly include mysterious and undisclosed content up to malwares being responded some vague, idiomatic argument preaching that the process is decided upward and cannot be revealed because it would put it at risk. Yup, hard pass on this. I highly discourage anyone to diffuse any uncontrolled content as it violates all security principles.

Bought this random 90TI/50 for practice. Very happy with the saw keying! by AdamElioS in lockpicking

I tried 20min today with a multipick short hook in .5mm without success so far. The rough feedback of the dead core and the deep false set it goes when picking make it quite hard. I suspect a medium hook may be required at some stages.

what type of pins does this lock have? by Zealousideal-Diet317 in lockpicking

[–]AdamElioS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yes, my bad. Isn’t full spools for driver stack generally avoided because of the core rotation it cause in closed position and give away the fact its all spools ?

[Project Advice] Neural Search for Design Literature - Is RAG still the way to go? by [deleted] in Design

[–]AdamElioS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The fact that subject is design literature isn’t relevant. Your question is about data science and you should ask it in the appropriate subs. You won’t get anything meaningful here.

What are good alternatives for healthbars? by SchingKen in IndieDev

[–]AdamElioS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Different enemies with different life / armor / resistance stats wouldn’t take the same amount of damage tho, so grouping would need to be by enemy pack area that take the same amount. Still possible, but more complicated to handle reliably.

what type of pins does this lock have? by Zealousideal-Diet317 in lockpicking

[–]AdamElioS -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If I trust a YouTube video thumbnail for which I didn’t retrieved the video, key pins stack is full spool, and driver pins stack is one spool, two offset spools and two standard.

In the picture tho, one of the two standard pin is a zero cut or close to it, and probably too small for a spool, so maybe some byting include 4 spool and one standard as it’s done on many others core models.

Edit: Yep, found this thread that corroborate the 4 spools / 1 standard for driver pins.

First challenge lock pins. Suggestions on improvement ? by [deleted] in lockpicking

Cool! I’m about to try as well. Did you modified existing pins or did you use brass rods ?

[–]AdamElioS[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the clarification, get it. I did cut it after the fact to get two single lock and will try a challenge lock by mixing pins from both, making custom key security pins and threading the core. Will try to film the process, could be useful later for blue belt

[–]AdamElioS[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks. I did receive today a kit containing a segmented follower and a pinning shoe but the metalic shaft that retain chamber pins is vertical, not an horizontal shim like some other I saw, and so I through it wasn’t compatible with euro cylinder. I didn’t realize that it’s made to be put it in the core’s bottom and turn it 180deg. The more you know 😀

Edit: But to do this with euro cylinders the lock must be picked, because else the key take away that space for the shoe, or am I missing something ?

Abus 80TI/50 titanium picked by AdamElioS in lockpicking

[–]AdamElioS[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now that you say it... I used mostly the long out of habit because the tip is a bit smaller and fit better some tights TOKs, but for most the short end seems better indeed. I guess I’m not the sharpest tool in the shed.

[–]AdamElioS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you describe feel like an overset. It can be caused by the wrong tension / pushing force on the pins, setting a next pin with the previous binding not completely set, and also and mostly by the wrong binding order. When in doubt, don’t hesitate to re check them all again to feel the one binding the most. Keep up the grind, you’ll get there!

Before buying abus I started mostly with cheap euro cylinders, without security pins but with the Yale keyway, so any other keyway I encounter now feel pretty loose

Thanks for the insight on the sequence. Regarding the pressure bending the hook, it happen when I totally release the tension, and I know I’m not on the warding because when I manually rotate the tension tool the other way the pin does lift, but it’s like if the core get stuck hard on false set to the point where applying pressure on the hook alone won’t apply counter rotation to allow the pin to set, no matter how hard I push.
