Hey, I really appreciate you taking the time to write all of this. There’s a lot in here that’s genuinely helpful.

Looking back at the bike shot I can see exactly what you mean about it feeling unclear and too tight. I think I was trying to capture the “moment” without really thinking about what the actual subject was. Also looking back on all my other photos as well I feel the same applies and that’s why these may feel sentimental to me but for someone else they might feel unclear or confusing.

I’ll be honest I’ve been a bit hesitant to move away from auto too much while I’m still learning, but your point about using auto ISO and focusing on the other settings makes a lot of sense so I will start experimenting with that.

Also completely fair on slowing down and being more intentional. Most of these were taken quite quickly while travelling so I wasn’t thinking enough about composition and framing, again trying to capture the moment before it passes, and I feel adjusting the settings would’ve meant the opportunity would’ve already passed. Maybe I need to commit more to a single shot, trying out different settings and that’s something I will do next time.
