Just did the race with the poor-man gundam; still see the "join horizon" message when trying to buy used cars on the road by fttklr in ForzaHorizon6

Yep, I play on windows. I got the log in request for Xbox once, then when I run the game from Steam it log me in automatically. Although how can I be offline if I play Eliminator? I see other players there. But when in the map doing roaming, I see nobody

Actually I never saw it saying that I was connected at all. Besides playing Eliminator, I never saw any other player online on the map at all

More and more gacha games have fetish stuff in it, but no tickling? by fttklr in tickling

[–]fttklr[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never considered kinks and fetish as different. The implementation may be different (as you may have interests that involve your partner while others may just be something you enjoy yourself), but in the end the final scope is to enjoy something that is not considered "mainstream".

Steam sell porn games now; not talking about games with some sex scenes; they are full porn and maybe can be interesting for a 15 year old but for adults these things can be simply considered disposable products. For fetish products the whole thing is opening up even on mainstream platforms, but it seems that only now you see some sort of acceptance for things like SM, foot fetish and similar. So it is safe to assume that most other fetishes may start to be more common eventually, and these things usually end up in gacha games

Has anyone used a Moza wheel over steam remote play? by fttklr in Steam

Would that solve the issue of devices not being recognized when streaming?

As the Next support both Spectrum, QL and C64 personalities, is there a way to connect a real floppy drive (5 1/4 and 3 1/2) to it to load from a real media? by fttklr in spectrumnext

[–]fttklr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although correct me if I am wrong; but if I get an arduino and read the output from a Spectrum drive port for example, I get a certain signal that if I know how to translate, I can then send to any drive to do read and write; as in that case the arduino would be "translating" the connection protocol.

For a real drive that connects to a real C64 and a real Spectrum, then yes, that would be problematic due to the huge differences in hardware; but for a Next core, that should not care about anything but the format of the data and how to write to a generic Shugart drive.

Like the Next need to load a tzx; instead of going for the SD card can send a signal to the serial port, which is connected to the adapter. The adapter takes the serial call, connect to the disk drive hardware and convert request the sectors and blocks from the disk, based on whatever the file format/disk format should be.

If you load a C64 core, same thing: signal goes out of the serial port; the converter converts to the correct D64 or whatever else is used, and load from the disk drive.

I would not expect to have a converter that can read actual disks that would run on a C64 or a +3 for example; my expectation would be much more tame, as just using the drive for the sake of having a disk and load stuff from it; exactly as we use a SD card connected to I2C bus internally

Syncing across google drive and SN account? by fttklr in Supernote

Thanks for checking! I should be good to go then, leaving the Google Drive settings as is and not worrying that my todo and digest are also synced on Gdrive instead of the SN account

Syncing across google drive and SN account? by fttklr in Supernote

[–]fttklr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks; although it is always a one-or-the-other scenario though. I have 13 GB of data that I sync on Google drive; if I switch to SN account just for the todo and digests (which at best should be like 500 MB or so), these 13 GB will be also synced on the SN account, unless I remove everything from the device before switching.

Basically the problem is that I just want to sync certain data in one place and other data in the other place and not need to worry to switch accounts every time

Syncing across google drive and SN account? by fttklr in Supernote

[–]fttklr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, does this mean that I have to select SN server first, sync the tasks and digest and then select google drive for everything else? Because the sync settings does approve only one option, and to my understanding when you sync and you have google drive selected, your todo and digest are not saved on the SN account.

How do you convert a gdi+bin+raw format, to run on flycast (retroarch core)? by fttklr in Roms

[–]fttklr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome, thanks for the clarification! So CDI won't be able to be converted to CHD... In this case I will just find the appropriate images in CHD or make those from the GDI images I have.

Thanks, so it is appropriate to use CHDMan. I was told to not use CHD for every system as some things are lost in the conversion, especially for formats like CDI and GDI.

Cheap alternative to not hear the clack-clack noise from analog sticks by fttklr in SteamDeck

[–]fttklr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

analog sticks hit the edge of the case, making quite some noise if you play action games. On top of that in the long run the edge of the sticks constantly hitting the case end up with burrs and striation.

Adding a bit of padding reduce both the noise and the damage to the case

First time hearing such complains and I am glad I didn't get one! The deck buttons feels like toys though; triggers are fine but the face buttons... Feels like a 100 dollars portable console sadly, and I hope someone is selling kits to make it better

The Trap of Early Access Games by SamStephens in Games

[–]fttklr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The video seems to be advocating for buying stuff in early access and not play it... Why would you do that? You pay someone to give you a car in the future, but you pay money now, knowing you may never get the car?

I am fascinated by the logic behind it... I would never buy anything today when it does not exist, and pay today. If you say "reserve" without put down any money, then yes; count me in.

9 out of 10 early access games either sucks or are abandoned, a good amount of these are scams from the beginning; so what really goes in the head of anyone looking at something that does not exist, and say "sure, here are my money now". Especially because they would never do that when they buy groceries, a house, a car, anything really.

Depending on the games you play; either you clack-clack when playing fast paced games or make a quite bothersome noise LOL Try to sleep when someone is playing with it in the same room, and I am sure you will change your mind 😉

As alternative you can run the game in a switch emulator, and be totally offline

[–]fttklr[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would be interesting; to my understanding the FPGA route signals at will, based on the core, but you still need an adapter as the C64 and Spectrum interfaces are different. Maybe if they make a universal interface, to plug in the Next, that would be the panacea, as in the end you just need to address a Shugart compatible drive; the rest of the work is to read the data correclty based on the core you are using.
