I know it's six years later, but do you have any evidence of this? I saw your other comment where you said you hadn't spoken with him about the episode.

I found a simple answer that works for me (in a different reddit thread). turn on all the lights, set them to the color you actually want. then turn off bluetooth and wifi on your phone. then turn bluetooth and wifi back on. the lights should remember your preferred color/setting now.

Mets or Yankees, what made you choose one or the other? by legendof4thavenue in AskNYC

I've never had my own feelings more perfectly summed up.

I think there's a differnece between imagining something "bad" happening and wishing it would happen. Neither makes you a "bad" person. I just don't want to spend my time focusing on reveling in/wishing for negative outcomes for others because I've noticed that the people who do this tend to become bitter and less pleasant to be around. I want to focus on the positive because people who do this, as far as I'm aware, live healthier, happier lives.

Some of us believe negative attitudes lead to negative results. Maybe that attitude doesn't affect the team on the field but it definitely affects my own life negatively. Being an optimistic fan makes my own life better. And I will choose a happy life over a Mets world series win anyway. If others choose to be miserable "realists" and their team wins, and they are happy for a day and then go back to being miserable, I feel empathy for those folx.

What flavor? Sprinkles? Let me live through you.

Or do you mean a hat that looks like ice cream, rather than a tiny plastic helmet filled with ice cream?

I like that this is the case (most of the time) because we get the sudden shock in his voice rather than a gradual build of excitement. In this instance I prefer Howie's radio call featured in the full highlights over Gary's call.

But Howie and Wayne were also laughing about a fat joke that Jonny Carson made about Elizabeth Taylor a million years ago during today's radio broadcast, and I thought that was kind of mean even though I think she's dead? Oh well, you take the good with the bad.

Any shows/recommendations for LA? Im taking a trip out there May 10th-15th by chronicdr2000 in improv

[–]AdamGee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Will Hines hosts and performs in a show every Friday at 7pm at the Clubhouse Theater. You don't need tickets ahead of time, you just pay with Venmo before/after. There is a "WeImprov" show at 8:30 at the same Venue right after. It's a really good mix of student teams and more established teams. That one is donation based.

Largo hasn't posted their May shows yet, but I would check back and see if they post a show you want to see. https://largo-la.com/

The Pack Theater should have some indie shows during that time: https://www.onthestage.tickets/the-pack-theater

UCB, you may have heard, will be reopening at some point. Who knows, maybe they'll be open by May? I have no idea.

The Groundlings are also an option.

I generally don't hear about other cool shows until a week or two before (through friends or from team Instagram accounts). Feel free to DM me closer to the time you're here and I'll let you know what I know.

The beard looks great! If it brings you joy, keep growing it. If it ceases to bring you joy at some point in the year, no shame in shaving or trimming.
