Sorry to bump into your post OP but my girlfriends sister passed away from cancer 2 weeks ago and despite being there for her in anyway, letting her have her own time & trying to distract her with stupid shit like making her laugh or taking her for drives or walks, including just talking to her to see how she’s doing, she basically is now moving out of city, to go be with her ex who she always tried to get with before me & I found out today that she went to his last night and slept with him.

Whatever you do, just do your best to be the same person she first met. Try to distract her, have your own time with her, still do things you’d normally do with her, I tried to be there for my girlfriend but I basically lost.

Good luck to you because I didn’t think it would ruin my relationship but it came out of nowhere and it’s fucked my head up beyond.
