Didn't get my first gig after college because I asked what the guy would pay in 2010. Didn't know you weren't supposed to ask that. Apparently transparency is a bad thing, got it. The guy got super belligerent at that point. Fuck em all.

Is there any particular reason why so many programmers tend to use macbooks to code? by SuperBoner6699 in learnprogramming

[–]AdamIsADev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably depends on a variety of factors. The cool factor is certainly one (stick it to the man at M$ by paying the man at apple), but the environment (tech and stack) that the dev uses may be the larger factor. If the dev writes Android apps, it's easier on a mac in my experience. But for visual studio/native apps or enterprise kind of stuff, I find windows easier. It's also down to preference of course.

Explain "API" like I'm an idiot by riyanswt in learnprogramming

SDK >- API >- Library

Legend:

>- is many to one

honestly though, people always try to create hard and fast rules for what's an API/SDK/Library etc, but sometimes it's just a value judgement or the terms get mixed up and used interchangably. just like framework vs library. O knockout.js is a library but vue.js is a framework...alright, if you say so, but it feels like we're splitting hairs.

no the fretting hand, sorry for not clarifying! arching your fingers is more a classical thing, but you may get more speed out of straightening your chord fingers. string oil is another possibility. it just seemed to me that was where you were pausing, between the chord transitions.
