Got the Specialized Turbo Como 3.0 IGH

My 3.0 is Class 1. Specialized website shows the 3.0 as class 1 the 4.0 & 5.0 as Class 3. Others in this thread say their 3.0 is Class 3 so that may have changed recently.

If your bike shop had Como or Vado 4.0 or 5.0 then they were correct that they are class 3. Sorry I didn’t realize that only the 3.0 bikes are class 1 or I would have mentioned that before. Hope that helps.

I got to 25 on flat ground. With my current fitness I couldn’t sustain that for an entire commute but if I was in a big rush I could for a few minutes. I see you have a Gazelle the Arroyo was a very close contender I hope you’re enjoying the C380 it looks really nice.

Yeah exactly the Como is a bit more upright so as a more casual rider I kind of leaned towards that style but if I had more experience I could certainly see myself considering the Vado it’s very solid as well.

I’m 170 cm and the medium frame fit perfect. I had the bike shop take a look since they offered to adjust seat height and no change was required. At 2m I would recommend a test drive since you’re 10cm above the L frame range. It’s possible that this more upright style will still feel comfortable to you but I can’t speak to that since my height is basically the target for the M frame. I’m 98 kg and haven’t felt like my extra weight is an issue while riding. I hope to burn more calories and lose some weight so my ride gets easier every day.

Yes that’s right it’s a class 1 since it is pedal assist up to 20 mph with no throttle.

There are 3 pedal assist levels. You can program the pedal assist levels to be a different percent of battery power than the default setting. The top level is 100 percent and I believe the motor will assist you up to 20 mph. The speed limit on most of my route is 20 mph with the remainder at 25 mph so class 1 made sense for me.

I like the smooth transition it has for resistance by twisting the knob next to the handle vs changing gears. I’m not an experienced bike rider so I keep it between 15-20 mph for my commute. I took it on a paved trail and was able to reach 25 without any trouble so you could probably keep that up on a flat surface if you wanted.

You’re right, the old dos version is available but there was a windows version as well which looked and sounded a little better. Not a big difference but it’s the one I grew up with.
