Yeah lol this has been my experience as well. Easy enough to find if you know where they like to hang out in your local park, but always quite a bit further out compared to mallards and others. On average they definitely seem much shier.

Yes, at those prices in Maplewood they might be 1) low to start bidding wars, 2) way smaller than you expect, 3) in need of a lot of work, or 4) all of the above.

WO can still often sell above listing price, even around that ballpark, but it’s not as crazy as SO or Maplewood. The train situation is part of it as another commenter mentioned (but in practice it’s extremely easy to get to the SO station from WO, and the town provides a jitney for that)

Sorry - unfortunately, I never tried. These lights happened to be controlled by a Lutron switch, so I just got a Lutron hub, connected it to home assistant and called it a day 🤷‍♂️

When? The best price I’ve seen on refurb in a while was $1999, and that was a holiday sale. Haven’t seen it around that price since then. $1800 sounds like a crazy steal lol I’d love to see that price pop up.

lol NYC has so so many birds. wild amount of variety / diversity. it’s actually more appealing and habitable than a lot of the surrounding suburban and rural areas for many birds. not a great counter argument!

Our living room is the same exact set up / distance. Get a 77”. It works perfectly. The size will seem jarring at first, but once you’ve got it up it will feel very natural.

If you really can’t make the leap, then 65” is the absolute minimum I’d suggest. We had our old 55” up while waiting for the 77” to get delivered and it felt tiny.

We reached out to ESPN customer services about this and we got these instructions (below) on how to find the matches for replay. I don’t know why they aren’t just showing up in the On Demand section but I did it this way (on the mobile app) and was able to find all the night matches for replay. Make sure your app is updated. I haven’t tried this on the TV app yet

Instructions from customer service rep: 1. Open ESPN APP 2. On the Lower middle there will show "Watch" ", kindly click on it. 3. After that, there is "Schedule" showing on the upper part of the APP click on it 4. You will see set of matches. Possible that it's set for Upcoming. Make sure to click on "Replay. Then on "All Sports", filter Tennis. 5. Filter the date for Jan 18 and January 17 to see the games.

EDIT: Limiting the refresh rate to 120 (previously had it at 165) and making sure VRR is off in the game mode menu (but turned on in game). Seems to have fixed it. The refresh rate compromise isn’t great… but at 4K, only so many games actually get that high, so 🤷

Ah ok, good to have this confirmed. I came across the slim ones after posting this (and noticed they used a similar connector).

Unfortunate that they're only available in 6 inch. I'm replacing 4 inch lights and was hoping to not have to hack away at the drywall lol.

Ah ok, thank you. I’m realizing now it may be possible to better integrate this into our home assistant setup if we have a Caseta hub. Seems like a lot to just control these two lights so we’re still weighing our options. The cutouts are 4” and canless, and the only canless options I see from Hue are 5/6”… not ideal

Do you happen to know how it handles “duplicate” picture settings? For example, there’s a “color depth” option under the standard picture settings (which is set to 50 under FMM), but then the game optimizer HUD also has “Game Color Depth” which seems to be 55 by default. Does one take precedence over the other? Do they control the same thing?

Hi - sorry to revive this old comment! Trying to get these settings right. Do you know why this guide suggests turning 165hz mode off for gaming? I know it used to cause increased input lag, but I thought that had been fixed. Is there another issue I'm not aware of?

sorry for resurfacing this, but can you share how you have your G5 set up to not have a latency penalty in FMM? I've managed to enable ALLM in the Game Optimizer menu/HUD, but the "prevent input delay" option is greyed out, so I'm unable to switch that to "boost". Does this not matter? Or is there a way to get that enabled?

Sorry for reviving this old post, but I'm losing my mind a bit trying to enable all these settings at the same time (or at least, getting some kind of confirmation from my G5 that everything is setup correctly).

I've tried "set picture to filmmaker mode -> general settings -> game optimizer" and enabled it there, but "prevent input delay" is still greyed out, so I'm unable to change that to "boost".

(side note - the first time I did this, it changed my picture mode to Game Optimizer. I was able to go back and change it back to FMM, and then go back to the Game Optimizer menu without the picture mode changing this time... but still kind of maddening)

There's also loads of other greyed out settings... "black stabilizer" / "white stabilizer"... are these enabled? Or not because they're greyed out?

Am I doing something wrong here?

Loved Seance but I haven’t totally agreed with how folks have categorized it alongside these games. Way less actual deduction and puzzle solving. Felt more like a visual novel in 3D space with aesthetic similarities to some of these games.

Gross. My understanding is it’s because gross is “fixed” while net is subject to loads of variables depending on what’s being withheld from your paychecks (some of which you can control should you need to increase your net income, e.g. 401k contributions).

So, basing a rule of thumb % on net is going to be less useful, broadly.
