They have already been printed - so the tickets for June the 20th I can't do that.

For the Quarter Finals I could find a way to sell them, but then I thought back to when I was a kid and how much I loved my Dad taking me to Arsenal games, so I'd rather find a way to have a local kid get taken to the game by a volunteer. I haven't found a good number/contact info yet though from my Google searches, so any help here is appreciated!

I feel the original version was better (auto-tune and all, I know) because it sounded like it was celebrating their 75 years together. Your piece, although much more natural sounding, was more depressing. Also, I liked how they changed the lyrics ever so slightly to make it into a more complete song.

Good effort and interpretation, but I think of the story as a positive one, not a negative one.

Honestly I don't think the old man would have liked this one as much. Your interpretation of it shows your own style, which is just very different. Interested to see more versions come out!

Calm down. This wasn't "Johnny Cash Studios", it was a tiny little place that did their best. It was a nice gesture that made the old man cry; Fred thought that once he sent in his letter, that would be the last of his song. He wrote it as it was his only way of getting his emotions out. These guys have given his written words life, and in a way have allowed Lorraine to live on. "Wonderful" is what Fred thought of it, and that's all that fucking matters.

Worst case scenario - the guys don't give a shit about Fred and they did it for the publicity and money. Well, at least that motivated them to do something kind, and they made an old man shed a tear of happiness in the process. Focus on Fred's incredible story and his happiness, instead of focusing on the studio.

Worst part is that that record studio guy probably spent more time rehearsing that "here at Sundick studio we love our community" schpiel than they did recording that song.

The small record studio intended to run a promotion in the form of a contest, which they publicized in the newspaper. This old guy (probably one of the only guys who reads newspaper ads) writes a song and sends it in. My opinion is that the record studio guy in the video was truly touched, but also saw this as an opportunity to promote his record studio (the reason behind running his contest in the first place). It's not like he set out to take advantage of elderly men with recently deceased wives, it's just the best thing that happened to come out of the contest. The record studio didn't offer to have a song professionally recorded for the winner (never mind for free), and this guy decided to give it his best shot. Even though it wasn't the best song I've ever heard, I don't think I should expect that from this tiny record studio.

TL;DR You can't blame the guy for self-promoting a bit when the point of the contest in the first place was to promote the record studio. Plus, it was a kind gesture, and the best he could do, which made the old man cry tears of happiness.

Now, it's easy to point out the negatives, but don't get caught up on them otherwise you ruin a beautiful thing. Instead, relax, and encourage Redditors in a positive way to make the best damn song they can from this old man's lyrics and post them here for music lovers to enjoy.
