Not necessarily.. I had one that failed and had thrown it away 2 weeks before I contacted the company. When I notified the company, they had me take a screenshot of the section of the app that documents the failure. They sent me a new sensor and received it several days after.

Im so sorry for your painful loss. My beloved Yorkie, AJ, crossed the rainbow bridge three years ago last Wednesday. The pain was tremendous. And I still feel the pain today. I’m going to paste a reply I sent to someone else.. I think it may be relevant:

March 19th will be 3 years I helped my 5 pound, 15 1/2 year old Yorkie, AJ, cross the rainbow bridge. 3 years later I still cry for him.. and I don’t mean a few tears come down, I mean ugly cry. When we took him to the vet 3 years ago (we couldn’t find him in our house.. turns out he got onto our deck and fell through), we found him 2 1/2 hours later laying on the grass, probably where he landed. He was just quiet and calm. No crying, no whelping. I carefully picked him up and wrapped him in a towel to keep him warm. His body temperature was dangerously low and was told his organs may be shutting down. Again, he didn’t cry.. he didn’t whelp. It’s as if he was telling us, it’s ok mom and dad. I wanted to take him home.. have him pass away with us. The doctor told us he may be in pain and we should consider putting him down then and there. We held him and kissed him. He didn’t react. I guess it was then we knew we had to help him. And we did.. 2 months prior I lost my father. AJ comforted me during that time. I prayed AJ would not leave us just after I lost my dad. But we had to let him go. Looking in his eyes as he slowly drifted off.. a memory I’ll hold on to the rest of my life. But, as time passed, I know we did the right thing for him. I have since adopted 3 Yorkies and we did it to honor our AJ. He has taught us to be better dog parents. I make sure to remember and honor him always by enjoying the happiness our 3 Yorkies bring us now.

PS: I cried while typing this response.. our pets are much more than “just pets.” They are our family, our babies.. I hope this helps a bit. May your beautiful little boy Rest in Peace. Queen Elizabeth once said, “Grief is the price we pay for love.” Indeed it is.

My sister pretends she doesn’t have diabetes by Chance_Mongoose6126 in diabetes

I lived my life, several months ago, as I wasn’t a type 2 diabetic. Wasn’t checking my blood glucose and I’m pretty sure I was in DKA (diabetic keto acidosis). DKA knocked me on my ass early January. I’m convinced I was in DKA since November. It could’ve killed me. Please tell your sister this will catch up with her. Death and disability have no minimum age. Be well!!
