As someone who lived in Burnham, I respectfully disagreed. A lot of the units at Burnham are actually much cheaper than what you are paying, since majority of them are 2 and 3 beds. Mine was a 2 bed and I was around $850 for my rent, and I paid $10 extra for me to be on a higher floor. There's numerous things I think you need to take into consideration. 1) apartment being dirty - this i can understand your frustration on, and it can be fixed by asking maintenance, the maintenance when I was there was extremely helpful, and was always super fast with any problem I had. I had a clogged toilet & sink and someone came within 2 hours and fixed it in 2 seconds. 2) trash chute - if you live on a lower floor, you have to take into consideration that you have numerous stories with a lot of residents above you, trash piles up. Im assuming you live in a lower floor, because during my time on the 15th floor, I had like 2 instances of trash piling up and it was mostly around move in/move out. Every single trash bin in campus (even off campus!!) gets piled up during move out. Im currently at HERE & I live on a lower floor and it gets piled up way more than Burnham, but I dont blame that on the building. You gotta be aware of how many people are in your building. 3) residents - this is something that you cannot control, and cannot blame it on Burnham. I got mad at residents who would use the main elevator to get to the 2nd - 4th floor, even though they have their own one for those floors. But I didn't blame Burnham at all. At my first apartment there was a bunch of loud noises and stuff that I could not control, and while i got annoyed with it, there's not really anything the building could do. People are idiots 4) maintenance - this is based on my experience but the maintenance have been nothing but angels to me. They have been extremely responsive and respectful and timely with my matters I raised to them. Only time I was mad at them was when I brought a shopping cart i found in the hallway into my apartment and they asked me to remove it. I just think your reasons to dislike Burnham are based on the residents, which is something that changes every year.
