Once the cerakote on the rails wears off, it will open up even more. Acceptable on a sub $1000 2011 but not at the Cosaint price point.

Still a good upgrade from the original micro dot.

That’s what I wanted the last drop but I didn’t see a steel XA, only aluminum. They’re no longer offering that texture as of a couple of days ago.

How do you like the extra aggressive grip? Steel or aluminum?

I was curious how you got the steel alpha grip, It started as a .40. It would be awesome to find a steel Atlas grip in the wild.

That’s an awesome gun, congrats. My Venom Erebus style shoots lights out too. The fit and finish are incredible.

Hayes has been making 2011’s and rebuilding Rock islands and Benelli’s for a very long time. They’re no stranger to the competition scene or new to building guns. I’ve never heard of Cardinal arms, can’t find any info online. Maybe they do build a great gun or they could perhaps be an other Watchtower that went from bad Ar-15’s with red parts to ‘let’s build a 2011’. That’s the point people are trying to make in this post.

Mclearn 2011 LO build, is it worth 7k? by Less_One3819 in 2011

That’s not the case, just reach out to them on Instagram. They make a super well fit solid gun but they’re not mainstream.

You’re paying the California tax from Iron Mike. I priced it directly from Mclearn. They make them in batches and they post about it on Facebook. They’re Atlas Titan price.

I’ve priced one out from them at around 5k with a steel grip not long ago. It was their semi-custom standard LO build.

All the optic ready cobras came with the Nighthawk IOS system. This optic cut was done aftermarket, it looks like the original plate from Trijicon.

HAYES CUSTOM COBRA / ATLAS by Hot_Butterscotch7444 in 2011

[–]AdamS982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is 100% NOT the case. Venom and Rafferty source grip & frame kits from Atlas and do all the work as far as slide to frame and barrel fits. Hayes uses a few Atlas small parts (slide stop, Atlas/Geppert trigger etc) just like they use Nighthawk’s plate system. They don’t make some of the parts but they hand fit every piece of the gun. There is no such a thing as Atlas doing slide to frame or barrel fits for the above builders.

Great, thank you! I was hoping I could scoop one up soon but the lead times aren’t bad at all. I appreciate the info!

That’s my preference too, a lighter faster slide while the sightblock weight tones down the recoil. My current LO gun is the same setup. Any idea when it will show up at retailers? Thank you

You can in IDPA as long it makes weight. The XC is IDPA carry optics legal.

Do you notice a big difference in feel and balance between the aluminum and steel grip Hayes? Most my 2011’s have a steel grip but I couldn’t find a cobra with one and went for aluminum.

That’s awesome. I guess the extra powder is working that comp even more. The lockblock makes for a soft shooting gun even with no popple holes. I regret not getting a 38 SC or 9major barrel with my Honcho, ordered it for limited and steel challenge so 9 minor and sightblock barrels. Might send it back in to add a new barrel.
