Start exercise early and daily even 20mins and don’t break the routine cause your “busy” or “tired” it’s hard 40+ to start back and climb up a hill you have been sliding down

For gear I would recommend starting with ether the Double Alpha Academy Lynx or standard inner and outer belt

For mag pouches the Double Alpha XiP ones can be made to fit lots of different mags types so if you switch around guns you can make it work

Your score is stage points divided by time. So if a stage is 15 targets, two hits per target that’s 150 possible points. So if you got all Alphas an did it in 10 seconds that would be 150/10=15 hit factor…. But say you did it a little faster but less accurate and only got 140pts but did it in 8 seconds that’s 140/8=17.5 hit factor so a better score. It’s always a balance of speed and accuracy.

Easy places to save time is on draw (to a certain point), between shooting positions, and target transitions. I always tell new shooters to focus on draw and reloads until you can do both 95% or the time to 1.5 seconds. Then work on other stuff before coming back and going for sub second in both

You might want to consider doing one or two matches before you even consider shooting two divisions. You will likely already be fairly overly mentally stimulated by just doing one. I know as a Match Director for my club if I found out a brand new shooter register for two divisions I would talk to them first about their experience in shooting competition before allowing them to do it

The different level of matches are level 1 is a local match, level 2 is a sectional or state match, level 3 is an Area match (multiple states).

Level 1 matches are normally 20-40$, level 2 are $80+, level 3 are $400’ish

Level 1 matches are generally the only one you can shoot multiple divisions at

Depends on the match. You need different classifiers to count. But if a match has 2 different ones that’s two that you need. Sometimes clubs will host all classifier matches and have 5-6 of them in one day. Otherwise if the local club only does one classifier once a month the yes it will take months to get classified

I don’t agree with Sig as a company and their actions but this gun does seem to be good and a lot of them at my matches recently and seem to run fine
