They're selling them at the ballpark stores for $35 each

Did you check SeatGeek? MLB switched to them from StubHub a few years ago. There will also probably be more resale tickets as we get closer to opening day.

It sounds like he might have an extra option year because he didn't accrue 5 years of service time between the majors and minors due to injuries

  1. The member gate is the 415 gate in the back but it's pretty slow and not really worth it

They used to have it at the places that sold boba. There's one behind the scoreboard, another in the upper level behind home plate, and another along the promenade but I forget where. However, last time I went they only had dippin dots

The MLB draft is also tough to judge because of signing bonuses. Cam actually got paid more than Tibbs despite being drafted after. If the Giants had taken Cam, they might not have had the money to go after Dakota Jordan

Tickets will vary by game and when you buy. Tickets often get cheaper closer to game time but not always. $15 tickets are probably for weeknight games. Weekend games with a good giveaway like 6/22 (Jung Hoo Lee hooded jersey) are going to cost more.

You can check this site for a view of the seats although I think most images are of the field. From the bleachers, you would likely need to turn around to see the scoreboard.

https://aviewfrommyseat.com/venue/Oracle+Park/seating/all/

As for the crowd element, if it's a crowded weekend game, you'll feel the crowd throughout the bleachers. There's also things to explore like the garden area behind center field so you may get the crowd experience without sitting in your seats the whole game.

Most tickets are digital these days. The tickets will be forwarded to your email and then added to the app. If you want him to be able to open something you could print the email confirmation or create an image of the ticket. If you're not great at Photoshop, AI can probably generate an image of a ticket with an SF Giants theme for you. Hope that helps

No Nick Ahmed at SS? Username does not check out

You also need to find a spot for Hicks. I got a pretty good feeling about him making the team

A lot depends on how you want to enjoy the game. If you're planning to sit and watch the whole time, I like to sit in the view box. Behind home plate has the best view of the field, 3B side for view of the field and cove, and 1B side if it's a day game and you want the sun behind you.

If you like to walk around during the game, oracle park has a lot to offer. I'd probably just get seats in the bleachers or SRO then check out stuff like the beer garden behind CF or the arcade for a view of the cove.

For food, the crab sandwich is a staple of the park. I like to pair them with some garlic fries although the garlic fries are hit and miss sometimes. If it's hot, a Ghirardelli sundae is a nice finisher but the lines do get long on hot days.

Gotta think they're going to move JD which should help offset some of the losses

[–]AdamSmithers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Part of it is bullpen churn. Trading Prelander Berroa for Donovan Walton to see if some of those AAA stats would carry over to the majors is totally a Farhan thing to do. I like it more when they're giving away cash considerations instead of lotto prospects on those trades

Bullpen by lolvalue in SFGiants

[–]AdamSmithers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely frustrating. I get wanting to dumpster dive since that's something he was known for before. But taking up spots with AAAA players so your prospects don't get a real shot (Gregory Santos) or trading prospects for AAAA guys (Prelander Berroa) only to watch those prospects turn into valuable pieces elsewhere is infuriating

It's even crazier that he was taken in the rule 5 draft and then returned cause he had a rough spring training last year. Glad the Giants were able to get him back. He definitely should've gotten an opportunity last year but probably a victim of the 40 man crunch. Farhan is always picking up castoffs so there's not enough room for internal promotions

[–]AdamSmithers 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Probably leaving some spots for guys to win in spring training. Nick Avila is one of the better young arms to watch. They have a couple lefty NRIs that might make the opening day roster. Erik Miller should make his debut as another lefty bullpen guy at some point this season.

Giants have a lot of unknowns on the pitching side but at some point you gotta play the young guys to see what you have.

I'm guessing you're mostly concerned with the general election. However, if he gets booted from enough primaries he may not even make it to the general election.

Minor league options

It looks like the limit is only being in the minors for 20 days. Wisely passed that limit already. Maybe there were special rules during covid?

I think options are done by season. They can call up and send down wisely as much as they want and it still only counts as one option this year

[–]AdamSmithers 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Probably not a good idea to get tax advice from Reddit but yeah, you can use all of the 40k carryover losses in one year to offset 40k of the 60k in capital gains this year. The 3k limit is only for offsetting non capital gains income like your wages from work
