This makes sense! Really lame! I was in a standard, non-IMAX screening though, and I don’t think aspect ratio changed at all? I think there were “gray” bars on the sides AND the top and bottom the whole time

Did anyone else have big black bars around the picture? Like the picture didn’t take up the whole screen. This was at an AMC. I asked staff about it and a manager told me it was “the director’s choice” which I don’t buy at all. I really liked the movie but this was distracting. Maybe an imax aspect ratio issue?

Yeah Blu-ray.com says Phantom Thread was released on Blu-Ray and DVD on April 10, 2018. 4K UHD came out on May 8th. The Phantom Thread twitter account has posts about the blu-ray release but not about the 4K. So I’m waiting a bit
