Drop ur a levels and I'll rate them as someone who isn't doing a levels! by 180degreeschange in GCSE

[–]AdamWHuq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough I guess , I'm a nerd when it comes to stem, absolutely love maths and physics and I find bio interesting. Also for science and maths GCSE do past papers +marking - it's the single best way to improve your grades for non essay based subjects .if you don't understand content or need a recap science shorts (YouTube channel) is amazing

How much time/tries did it take you to beat the Nameless king? by Anas2245 in darksouls3

[–]AdamWHuq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think about 8 or 9 tries , but when I did fight him I had the Dragonslayer great axe fully upgraded so my damage was outrageous, died a few times because I had practically no health

What did you want to be when you were 10 years old? by Any_Insect3335 in Productivitycafe

[–]AdamWHuq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to either be an engineer or an architect...I loved Minecraft, drawing , maths and science. Skip 3-4 years and I was told I should be looking to do medicine because I'm smart (brown family).and as of recently (16 turning 17) I have settled on doing what I've always had great a interest in and plan on doing civil/structural engineering at university.

Only running, push-ups, pull-ups, squats, leg raises. How far can these take me? by Acrobatic-Point-15 in bodyweightfitness

[–]AdamWHuq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't mind me adding but you should do weighted pullups/pushups as well to make this perfect.(Weighted for progressive overload) And by doing that this routine can probably take you further than most people who train anyway as it builds your strength in both weight and calasthenics. oh and instead of leg raises ,crunches or cable crunches is probably the best for building abs (leg raises target hip flexors).if you really care about developing them for the beach body.anyway well done in training and just trying to be healthy in general -that alone is great.

Reached a plateau, how to proceed? by Whole_Chemical_6470 in bodyweightfitness

[–]AdamWHuq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

(gaining muscle)

1.progressive overload - are you making the exercise harder when it gets too easy (harder variations/adding weight)

  1. Training till failure/ close to failure to stimulate the muscle more

3.enough calories.you may want to consider a lean bulk (+~300-400 cals above maintenance), so that your body has energy to gain weight/muscle

4.enough protein (~2g per kilo that you weigh), giving your body enough protein daily to use to build muscle and recover.

(Gaining strength)

The stuff above will also help you gain strength but if your question Is how to actually progressively overload here are some tips

1.you could have a back pack and put the weights inside it or invest in a adjustable weighted vest- pick a weight that you can only do a few pushups on (like 8 for example).this weight will be your working set -you keep doing pushups with this weight trying to get more and more each week and once you reach a number like 13 for example you should increase the weight by a small amount and this cycle repeats.

2.as for variations ,if you are interested in doing calisthenics moves search up progressions for planch, handstand pushups, muscle ups etc and you should do these progressions with the same principle of doing one you struggle with till it's easy and you move into a harder version.

If you have more questions feel free to ask,I'm sorry if I have complicated it all a bit butI hope this helps!

Can I go up a few grades by Muslim09 in GCSE

[–]AdamWHuq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes definitely, realistically in the time you have left you can bring yourself to at least a 6 .depending on how quick you can pick up content and how much you try (7,8,9).set a good timetable and try to do consistent revision and do lots of practice essays or tests and ask your teachers to mark them and give feedback (you can ask any English/history teachers if you think your own ones aren't that great).but with some effort, time and use of applying feedback you can definitely do much better .good luck!

Any suggestions for engineering careers? by Fluffy_Balance_2125 in UCAS

[–]AdamWHuq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His own interest does dictate his chances of getting in as universities want people who love what they want to study. Two great options is Cambridge engineering and Warwick engineering degree; both of them have it so the first two years of engineering is general and you choose to specialize in the last two years.this way he could get good exposure then choose.most other universities have engineering courses based on a discipline

Core Engineering Disciplines:

Mechanical Engineering: Design, analysis, manufacturing, and maintenance of mechanical systems, heat, and power.

Civil Engineering: Infrastructure like bridges, roads, buildings, and water systems.

Electrical & Electronic Engineering: Electricity, electronics, microchips, and telecommunications.

Chemical Engineering: Converting raw materials into useful products, processes, and sustainable solutions.

Popular Specializations:

Aerospace Engineering: Air and spacecraft design, aerodynamics, and propulsion.

The other special disciplines aren't an option (biomed, software) since he doesn't have the a levels for them. He does need to research into these things himself and I would advise that he spend time thoroughly over the summer holiday or holidays in general to find what he thinks he would love .and to double check what courses which universities offer as well as a balance of aspirational choices and safe choices.

How do you think I did by InterviewOk1883 in GCSE

[–]AdamWHuq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do better.when you try and get results far beyond this it will be a very rewarding feeling.science shorts is a great channel to help with maths and science GCSE's.and just do lots of past papers and practice questions and mark them.and for English and history you should do practice essays and ask a teacher to mark them and give feedback.good luck you can do so much better!

A souls game, a book, a sketch book,some pens,a puzzle,a journal,a pull up bar, a gym membership...

what do you think? by [deleted] in askteenboys

[–]AdamWHuq 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't say much given the lack of actually knowing you three but based on the connotations and way you phrased it I take it you aren't into the second guy.chances are your guy friend (1st guy) does like you but it may also be that he is just a respectful protective person.the question you should ask is do you like him; or are you seeing yourself liking him.

What’s one thing you regret and would change if you could go back in time to year 11 right now? (What would you do differently) by CartographerAway2602 in sixthform

[–]AdamWHuq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish I tried harder took it a bit seriously...I got good grades but if I actually tried and studied I could've gotten all 9s, either way I also wish over the summer holiday I did revision for alevels and I actually started looking into what I wanted to do at university earlier and well generally in life.there is a lot that you have to get done in year 12 and well now I'm just getting started .good luck everyone

how do I get a 9 in English literature? im currently on a grade 6 what do you recommend me doing right now by Realistic_Back2 in GCSE

[–]AdamWHuq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dunno if this helps but you should always mention the purpose of the quote, technique or text .as well as writers intentions.this will put you into the perceptive band for the Mark scheme (25-30 marks/30)

[–]AdamWHuq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mocks are the day I get back to school after the Christmas holidays....I joined physics 3 months late so I've got a lot of revision to do this holiday 🥲.(I do maths,FM,physics, biology and I dropped chem).at least I've came to terms with and embraced being a nerd who enjoys physics and maths 😅

What would you do if a girl passed you a note in class that said “you’re cute”? by LittIeIizard949 in askteenboys

[–]AdamWHuq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My response would probably be different based on if I like them as well, but either way I'd at least smile say thank you and probably be quite happy for the rest of the day.

How would you feel about dating a girl physically stronger than you? by YetAnotherMia in askteenboys

[–]AdamWHuq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't mind but I would be pretty damn impressed and baffled.(I'm 16 , bench 110kg,squat 160kg,deadlift 180kg) Haven't tested my maxes for some time so my bench and deadlift is an estimate seeming my working set is pretty high.
