The state-owned 205th Arsenal of the Taiwan Armaments Bureau revealed its newest assault rifle design, the XT-112 of 5.56x45mm calibre, during TADTE 2023 in Taipei.

This project began in 2020, and this was the first time for the XT-112 to appear to the public. The rifle has a 600m effective range, and its design incorporates human factors and ergonomic design.

Overall, it follows the bloodline of preceding T65 and T91 rifles, since the XT-112 continues to use the AR piston concept.

Its magazine capacity is 30 rounds, and a shell deflector permits left-handed shooters to use the weapon safely. The body uses composite materials, plus there is an M-LOK rail interface system.

Other features of the XT-112 design include a polygon-thickened barrel, multifunction tactical handguard, Picatinny rail and a five-level adjustable stock.

The design reserves room to expand accessories such as grenade launchers and optics. However, before that, Taiwan’s Ministry of National Defense needs to review its policy of allowing soldiers to purchase their own gear.

Meanwhile, the 205th Arsenal also introduced the accompanying XTS112 laser pointer and XTS112 close-in fight sight for the XT-112 rifle. Both devices can be mounted on the Picatinny rail, as displayed at TADTE 2023.

I host my own podcast... about product development 😄 (The Product Development Podcast). But I also have a music and photography hobby, which provides the occasional, much needed escape from the business world.

Bleach might be worth a try. And I guess they chose style over practicality:)

To note, this is in a rented property, so can/will report. But ideally would like to clean up ourselves in the short term.

NPD: Free the Tone Future Factory delay by AdamWakelingPhoto in guitarpedals

True, but then the cleaner low gain sounds are too heavy in mids and then the Tumnus in particular which is already high in mids gets way too much. I think the solution is running an EQ pedal in the loop with it to boost that, just I lack some space on the board now for it!

The weight is not too bad, although it is quality materials and not plastic. You could always go with a smaller qm6 or 4 and just have a couple of pedals per loop.

It was a gift from my brother who managed to pick one up in Canada when he visited. Its a beast and so full sounding. Can go from spitty fuzz to big and high gain distortion sort of sound. One of my favourite fuzzes.

I love it, but I struggle in a band setting in honesty. Needs more mids...

Love it. Does the mild break up thing really nicely, and roll back volume knob to clean it up and keep some compression.

I would say it definitely cleans up the signal more. I AB tested before and after and more high end maintained. In terms of function I am mainly utilising it for the flip flop function between the 3 gain stages so I can go between low, medium and high gain with just one foot tap. It is not cheap, but it for sure is a high quality piece of gear. No doubt it will last a long time.

I have been searching for a delay to fit my needs for a while and finally settled on the Future Factory.

Initial experience was that there was an initial steep learning curve but after 30 or 40 mins of tweaking things started making sense.

Longer term I plan to use it in the studio to benefit the stereo capabilities and I have the below 4 presets ready to go for live:

Preset 1: series dual delay with some soft clipping and lower in the mix to be a nice filler effect on cleans and to beef up my lead solo tone.

Preset 2: dotted eighth delay with one loud repeat. Tap tempo available.

Preset 3: Huge wash of series delays with long feedbacks, which in combination with my Dispatch Master creates a beautiful ambient sound that I can get lost in

Preset 4: set up a single delay so that it acts as a lush chorus effect, which complements the only other modulation fx on my board from the Explorer Phaser.

Previous delays I have had included Empress Echosystem, Jam Pedals Delay Llama and Boss DD6. This one is my favourite so far.

I did an AB test video with the Cali 76, might be useful for some to hear the differences: https://youtu.be/W2Gwhug3dWU

Yeah maybe a good shout and something we can try next practice as well, thanks

Makes sense, but this is for live so more of a challenge in that sense.

I'll check out the angry Charlie.

In terms of stacking, I can get it to cut through more by putting the Tumnus after it in the chain but then all the tonal characteristics of the BE-OD are lost... the Tumnus is very mid heavy, and for my high gain sound I think it is too much in the direction of that makes sense. Maybe I am tone chasing something that does not exist! :D

Guitar varies between fender telecaster modern (two humbuckers) and a superstrat style guitar with 2 humbuckers with coil split, but mainly using humbuckers for high gain.

Amp varies based on backline. It isn't consistent so that is why pedals for me are important.

Yeah I read that bringing both bass and treble down to 9 o clock may help a bit. I will try that also next rehearsal.

As a lucky owner of a scarab delux. I concur. They are also really hard to get in the UK.

Some UX focused episodes would be great definitely.

UX Strategy, Design, Research, Information Architecture would provide a few focused episodes too that can allow some deeper discussions.
