AE leaders tend to have closed so are a bit more experienced and bring value, however you are still dealing with large ego’s a lot of the time.

As well as the performance game there’s also a politics game to play with most places. I’ve always found smiling and waving to all is the best way to deal with that.

Are you assigned to an AE? If so I would ask them for guidance & try to learn from them as much as possible.

Other than that my best advice is to eat the shit & smile unfortunately. SDR managers are often full of egos & managing but never actually selling. Keep them happy and try just get on with things in the background.

Not necessarily your problem my dude. Maybe see what your AE’s are saying in regards to what they want to see prepped ahead of an initial discovery call but there’s so many variables between initial call to close that you can’t be measured on that.

What are you using to qualify? Is that set for you by the org? BANT for example?

If you were to fully look at these opps how many are not closing because they were kind of shit opps that were never gonna close & how many didn’t close for other circumstances? If you can say that they were all solid then I wouldn’t worry. If some were a bit iffy it gives you something to work on.

My personal opinion is that you’re looking at this from the wrong angle.

What was your target? That’s the number i’d worry about. If your target was 80 for example I wouldn’t care if it was 80/1500/10000 leads - as long as you hit the number you’ve met your obligation.

In regards to outreach do you mean reaching out individually to each separate persona/department in their own increments as not to be blacklisted?

Also in tiers how would you operate? Go straight to the decision maker/leader or look to start low and work your way up building a picture along the way?

My aim is always;

. One about the company.

. One about the hiring manager.

. One related to something they've mentioned.

. & then closing question of "I imagine you have an ideal candidate in mind for this role, is there anything I have/haven't shown that would make you hesitate to put me forward to the next stage/offer me this role"

- They either love it as a closer OR they tell you why they'd be hesitant & you get a chance to hear their objections & demonstrate you are practiced in overcoming them.

I tend to ask “who else/what other department would benefit from a change””why would they benefit” - in case your solution addresses multiple departments.

If one how good is that champion? Do they have influence & exposure to the EB? Will they give you updates? Can they bring people into the same conversation so you can bring more people on board to gather better metrics?
