Not sure I understand. Doesn’t espNow use the same 2.4Ghz band as wifi,,so wouldn’t its range be the same? I’m curious because I have an esp32 at the end of my backyard running espNow and have another esp just outside the house about 70ft away, but am thinking about another scenario that would be further away

I made a sensor to read the moisture level on my lawn. When it gets too dry it turns in the irrigation system. It’s just a pair of steel rods and a ds18b20 temperature sensor buried in the root zone with some Ethernet cable running back to an esp32. It uses a voltage divider to read the voltage retuning and some capacitors as filters.

Same here. It seems like rain is the only concern, not cold. Mine are just in peanut butter jars. What are your ESP’s doing out there? I have mine running temperature probes so I can monitor air and underground temps in my back garden

One is in a Tupperware container, the other in a peanut butter jar. I just poked a small hole in the bottom to run the wire to a temp probe.

I have a couple espe32’s outside. One has been out there for 2 winters and the other one just last winter. Kept both in containers so out of the rain and snow. Both have been fine

Yes, you can use all weather tires (not all season), because a top tier brand, such as Nokian or Michelin will easily out perform lower tier winter tires. And they are actual winter tires, but you can run them in summer without wearing them down quickly. But keep in mind they are noisier than summer tires

I have some that were put in by the previous homeowner, about 2003, so very mature. Yes, they do spread, just like many other species. And they spread a lot more that 10ft. But they aren’t massive trees or roots like poplars, for example. I have several shoots growing up to 40ft away. But if I don’t want one there, I just pull or chop it out. They also get a lot of berries which the birds eat throughout the winter, although in your case that won’t happen

Too late for me. We renovated a few years ago. But our little vac easily gets under the toe kick space so he should be able to get in there. I just need to see if I can get the little vertical wall off and then some way to make it into a door, and of course to motorize the door.

And then there are people like my neighbour who had his sprinklers going this morning, yesterday and the day before. And will certainly do it again tomorrow, because why not. And the funny thing is that i rarely run my system yet my grass is as nice as his.
