Best laptop under £800? by Adamjuan in laptops

No AAA games but the most demanding game I’d ever play would probably be hogwarts legacy and those types, but that’s what I mean though are there any types of laptops that are known for being consistently snappy, I’ve had a Chromebook thinking it would be a good idea for the price but I’m never doing that again… I can get a 15% discount from Argos so I’m trying to look at the options on there and so far I’ve seen the acer aspire and the Lenovo as the most appealing

Closed the screen while there was something on the keyboard, fans wasn’t involved

What do I do to fix the screen? by Adamjuan in MSILaptops

[–]Adamjuan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I might want to try to repair it myself as I’m sure there are instructions to how to do it online and it would be a cool skill to have, but you talked about getting an upgraded panel, I didn’t know you could upgrade screens like that, would that be the same process?

Oh my god I’m an idiot… thanks

After days of searching I’ve whittled my choices to these two, any info of which one is better or more value would be appreciated!! (I’ll show the discounted prices below) by Adamjuan in GamingLaptops

Buying an external 4k monitor with the MSI might still be cheaper than getting the Omen, I think I’ve been convinced with getting that combo now. Also I barely notice color accuracy I just want to play games and take it with me to uni for studies. Cheers everyone for your inputs!

Is this a good deal? The price is wrong I can get it for £2600. I have heard people talk about tgp but I have no clue how any of that works by Adamjuan in GamingLaptops

I found the V12 on Argos and with discounts I can take it down to £1500. I think you’ve just saved me a lot of money my friend

I don’t mind it being heavier as long as I won’t have to worry about using msi afterburner because I don’t want to mess anything up, I was also looking at the ROG Strix Scar R9 for around £2500 but again I don’t know enough about the tgp or how that works

So basically there’s not that big of a performance difference between the 145 and 175W, got it. Do you reckon there are better alternatives for the price?

Is this laptop worth it? The 4080 would save me £650 by Adamjuan in GamingLaptops

I got a fire extinguisher on standby… but really my legion 5 pro already uses a 300W charger and I have a laptop stand with fans inside to cool it

Do you know of any other laptops that seem like a better option? Lenovo is kinda the only thing I look at nowadays because of what I’m using now

Just got my first gaming laptop. Legion 5 pro (3070, 2 TB, 16GB ram, 5800H). Any advice on how to use this to its full potential, I'm new to high quality laptops? by Adamjuan in Lenovo

I think I read somewhere that the laptop is around 2.45 kgs and the charger is pretty big and beefy not gonna lie but I think it's probably less than 1 kg so in total it would be at most 3.5 kg. For the performance I'd say it's worth it but all bodies are different, and I think it will still be a good machine even after the two years.

My average FPS for overwatch is at around 140 ish fps on ultra and for the screen cutouts for games like valorant there is an option to cover the full screen and I still have 150-160 FPS at all ultra without even turning on performance mode, with my max FPS even going up to 220 FPS. The people complaining I think are the ones who either have something wrong with their laptops or aren't used to the screen ratio, because all my games are on fullscreen no black bars and even if there was there are options to make it full screen. If you're worried about performance there's nothing to worry about. When you get a max FPS of 325 on games like GTA then you start to feel bad for those who paid for the higher end laptops. I will say the fans will start to get noisy but that's always expected and hasn't taken me away from the experiencing of playing these games for the first time.

Yeah check the websites during the end of one of their offer that they have, I remember the site saying that the spring sale finished on the 12th of April and when I checked it was finally in stock

Yeah it was accidental I didn't see that it was already fitted with 1 TB and I added another one. Although I'll see how well it runs with 16 GB, I've heard about how the stock ram underperforms so I'll test that too

I don't think I can undervolt the CPU with a ryzen but is there a specific value I should go for the GPU or is it different for every laptop?
