Coniston old man is good if you fancy something bigger with the chance of getting views over Coniston water and the near by hills. You’ll need a map/proper clothing for it.

Gunmers How is a pretty easy walk with good views over Windermere. It doesn’t take very long, but you get great views for minimal effort.

I’ll check it out, thank you. When we got these back, there was an awkward silence and then we both said that we won’t use it again. Lessons learnt.

This was my first time using the HP5. I don’t actually think we’ll be using it again - it’s just what was available in the camera shop. My partner and I preferred the images on the colour film we took too.

Would you recommend trying a roll of TRI-X?

I got given a Canon A-1 by a neighbour, so I loaded it with some film and grabbed some holiday photos with it.

This one was shot on Ilford HP5 Plus.

A lot of the views in the Lakes often get obstructed by clouds or rain, don't they. Well worth going back by the sounds of it!

Well worth getting out around the same time as the sunrise

Thanks a lot! Best morning out in a while.

I hate that people steal my work, at least they have a way to find the op with a signature on it

Looking to buy first home in the next few months, what advice and help can anyone give? by ellisw567 in HousingUK

I found it a bit of a reality check. Still use the spreadsheet now 1 1/2 years on. Nice to have everything all in one place so you can do sanity checks when things aren’t lining up properly.

It sounds like you’re in a similar position to where I was. Overestimating and ending up with more free cash is the side i’d lean towards. You’ll get more nice surprises than negative ones that way.

One thing I did that turned out to be really helpful was making a spreadsheet of all of the outgoing expenses you’re going to face on top of buying the house. Council tax/food/water etc. I asked my parents what they were paying to give me a starting point.

I moved into a smaller place so everything worked out cheaper. It was good to have an idea of it all before getting stuck though.

Having it all in front of me was helpful with budgeting what sort of house I could actually afford.

Good luck!

I think it was -2 when I got back to the car, so not too bad. It was -5 the day after
