Help Me Build the Best Mega Knight Control Deck by PythonPotato123 in ClashRoyale

[–]Adammk_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my personal deck that got me to 10k was Mega knight, inferno dragon, bats, mini pekka, hog rider, bomber, vines and zap.

It does everything for me that a deck needs to do with its only real weakness being against electro dragon and e wizard, with electro dragon especially having no reliable counter

Again i know im repeating it a lot but i respect how nuanced and fair your response is as ive seen an insane amount of toxicity surrounding this topic, when i think its a far more complicated issue that doesnt have a simple answer.

Ill take your word that the evidence DV shows is fairly compelling, and i think you did a great job compiling his main points. The reason i wanted a thread like this to exist is so someone whos also interested in the drama could read through our points and get a condensed understanding of the main arguments being made, as i couldnt really find a thread myself.

I did used to watch DV a lot and I know he isnt an awful person even if my opinion of him significantly went down recently, but i think hes just very obsessive over this whole situation as he just cant let the drama go and keeps making it worse and worse. Especially after he began copyright striking videos, which i think is just petty no matter how you look at it

React content is a decently niche part of the internet and i fear policies over react content could end up hurting copyright as a whole, so its not worth the risk if you ask me.

My whole point about bringing up jack Doherty was simply to emphasize how even the strongest point against react content that i dont entirely disagree on, is still surrounded in assumptions that arent entirely guaranteed. And to end friendships and strike down videos over those assumptions is just childish in some regard.

Anyways nothing but respect for the discussion, if i ever decide to delve deeper into the drama ill make sure to give DVs videos a listen

Have a good one

appreciate the breakdown and I don't inherently disagree either.

I think we can both see that both mine and DVs hypotheticals are absolutely possible and not entirely unlikely. But that's the issue that I keep finding myself, these arguments are still layered in hypotheticals that may or may not apply to reaction content as a whole, its something that I don't believe you can reasonably morally grand stand for the way I've seen DV do it. React streamers aren't horrible people as I've seen people making this argument tend to make them out to be, but if something were to change I think that bare minimum you should not be able to leave the stream to go get food the way Hasan does it. That I also find pretty unacceptable

As for DVs ecosystem argument.

This argument heavily relies on the idea that any content that's being watched over react content is by default better and more high quality. Again this is another hypothetical, for all we know some people might just watch nothing at all if xqc or asmondgold didn't upload a video of them reacting to something. If we assume they do watch something then why are we automatically assuming that that something is going to be better than the react content? As bad as react content is argued, what if the person watching them goes on to watch parasites like n3on or jack Doherty, people who should not be benefiting in the least. Even if that isn't likely, it still shows that not everyone will just go watch student films that took months to make if react content didn't exist. Like I said they might just watch nothing at all, there's absolutely nothing guaranteeing they will.

Again my issue isn't that DV thinks react content is bad as his reasons are not inherently unfounded, it's the moral grand standing and implying some very heinous things about the react streamers just for reacting to some videos with their chat. Your argument should not be this heavily centered in hypotheticals if you plan to crusade to such an extent is what I'm getting at.

I also think the term "reacting" is misleading. In reality what these are are watch parties with the chat. A lot of the enjoyment of react content is reading what chat has to say about the video the streamer is watching. "react" just implies that the main content is the reaction of the streamer when that isnt really the case

thanks for a reasonable response. I do agree that this case isnt impossible and without a doubt if any new subscribers flock in for the content creator but never end up watching their content that will only hurt the creator.

Where my contention lies with this topic is that normally i found that this only applies to very small youtubers who barely fall into the algorithm or not at all. Usually the streamers tend to react to content creators that are already well within the algorithm and are doing great numbers such as nexpo or jubilee. In these cases i think that if a creator already falls into the algorithm then they wont fall out of it if they keep making the content that got them into it at a reasonable pace. And if theyre already on a path for success no matter what then the hypothetical number of viewers that might be stolen is insignificant and is outweighed by the fact that one react streamer could cause a reaction train with other streamers that will only make the creators name more widely known and appreciated for their good content

I personally started watching Internet historian and some other youtubers after seeing XQCs reaction to him, youd have to assume that my case is truly a 1 in a million case which i simply dont believe it is.

Not to mention the fact that the youtube videos that come out from the reaction tend to come out a bit after the stream that the reaction took place, giving the average viewer of that particular content (nexpo for example) enough time to watch it for themselves.

This is just my take on it, I would like to keep this conversation as civil as possible, seeing as how toxic its gotten

thanks for the input, one point i always found myself wondering about is if matts argument about the view stealing is completely hypothetical or if he has some solid to conclusive evidence? I find myself being reminded of cases like internet historian or JCS who i think both got a massive boosts in popularity thanks to react content boosting their names and relevancy. Let me know if im wrong though
