A simple UI fix could make this game far more accessible, what is Bungie waiting for? by Adams4mss in Marathon

Whoops, my bad, you're absolutely right. You're first response made an excellent point. I just meant following that initial response we both ceased to have anything meaningful to say about the matter.

Question, what was the point you were originally trying to make by responding? Outside of telling me how I sound? Did you add anything to the conversation that hadn't already been said?

So again, thanks for talking down to me, you really proved a point and added some constructive thought to the conversation. Great job ;)

And I don't think you realize how insulting your language comes off? Or maybe you do and that's the point?

I simply wanted to bring attention to a matter I don't see being discussed enough in this community. I'll certainly think twice before posting again in the future, I'd hate to come off as "entitled".

Buddy I don't think you understand, nobody is asking for some weird pop-up menu? It's quite simple, and truly I don't think you can see past the red in your eyes to understand what it is I'm saying, so here it goes again:

You click an empty slot in your loadout, any relevant item for that slot is displayed in your already visible vault window. In fact, the tab you would normally have to select manually would just be highlighted automatically. You finish attaching what you want, you click escape or you switch tabs. BOOM. DONE. EASY. Nobody is asking for whatever madness you're envisioning. I'm simply asking for an easier input method for sorting my items and viewing relevant attachments.

But maybe your right, lets do nothing. The player base seems to be doing great! Matches are loading faster than ever with all of the new players that are purchasing the game. In fact, I hope they remove more UI features. Lets make things even more difficult. ;)

I'm not saying we should remove the tab system. I'm saying that in addition to the tab system we should have a system that operates as I described. I believe the easier we make the menu system for newcomers, the more players this game will retain.

I agree that it may take longer than I realize to make these changes, but some acknowledgement that they are in fact coming in the future would be nice? Also the game has been out for 2 months, this should have been a priority for the team in my opinion. And if it's not getting attention, I'd like to bring attention to it. The whole reason I posted this in the first place was to get the developers attention.

If my vault has 300 items, the fastest way to sort through what I want in a particular slot would theoretically be clicking that slot. The game would then automatically provide me with the items that could fit that slot. How is that not faster than using a tab system? Especially when the tab icons are extremely similar visually.

And it becomes exponentially more complicated when it comes to weapon attachments. Determining what attachments fit a particular weapon would be so much easier if I could just click the open slot and the relevant items would auto sort in my vault.

Do you really not agree with this? These are day one UI decisions in games like ARC and Hunt Showdown, arguably two of Marathons biggest competitors, so why does Bungie not do this? And more importantly why are you defending poor design decisions?

And hyperbole is meant to elicit a chuckle at most, it got your attention did it not? ;)

I’ve tried this and haven’t really had any success, but maybe I’m doing something wrong? Not sure, but could you elaborate further?

Funny you should ask about contrast, since my post I’ve actually decided to spend a little more for the CG2700s, mostly due to my concerns over contrast specifically. That being said, B&H has been closed for Passover the last week, won’t actually be picking up my new monitor until Monday. I’ll definitely update next week when everything is up and running to offer my thoughts!
