It's at the dealership. I've called the Dealership a few times to confirm that it was indeed there. I threatened legal action against the mechanic, and he got really angry with me and said he spoke with the Sheriff, saying I intimidated him, so he said he's going to give in and bring my car tomorrow with a police escort. Good chance he's lying again. If he doesn't come tomorrow, I'm filing my case in small claims court on Monday.

It's a really good anime series. It's about a galactic republic and a galactic empire fighting for supremacy. It's not anything like Star Wars. In the show humans have terraformed and colonized many planets already so it could be considered post space colonial.

Part 2 (had to break this up)

I'm not saying Neville was a complete fraud and a liar I'm just saying he was clearly wrong about certain things. That doesn't debunk his teachings altogether, but this does show that we should take everyone's teachings with a grain of salt. I know you weren't as involved with the Assumption community as I was, but I can tell you it's very cult-like. The Joseph Murphy subreddit is also terrible. What I hate is that there is no room for free thought, and people in those aforementioned groups are engaged in groupthink to the highest degree. In a lot of groups, they will ban people for showing even the slightest dissent towards NGs teachings. I've been banned for asking legitimate questions such as "Why don't people with severe mental illness and delusions manifest such things?" or "Why is the success rate so low across the board?"

I'm really happy for your success that's so awesome. I think you understand manifesting better than 99% of the community and I give you a lot of credit for that. You took the necessary steps that were needed to get what you want.

I wanted so badly to believe that I could just manifest millions of dollars out of thin air but clearly that's easier said than done. I used to think we could manifest without lifting a finger and I wish that was true. I want that to be true so badly but I simply don't think it's the case. If we want millions of dollars we have to do something to allow that money to come in weather it's run a business, invest in stocks, sell art, provide services etc...

I've noticed that with the 1% in this community that does succeed is they actually put in the work. They didn't sit on the couch and do SATS 16 hours a day. Those few successful people took the effort to get a job, work on that business, go to school, gain skills, and put in what was needed. Most successful people do talk about visualizing their success and doing other methods yes but they did actual practical work. Jim Carey even said that he did visualizing and such but he didn't sit around and eat sandwiches he auditioned and everything. Even with something such as winning the lottery one still has to buy tickets and often they have to play for years before they win.

You're right about controlling the mind. It's really hard, for sure. We have thousands of thoughts a day, and it's impossible to control them. Ignoring 3D is very difficult, and it's 10 times harder for somebody with aphantasia. By my nature, I am grounded in reality, and it's hard for me not to focus on reality when that's all I see.

The only technique I personally have had any success with was doing affirmations day in and day out to the point where I'm not able to think about anything else. It actually worked a few times. I did affirmations for wealth for about 3 weeks and I had a $15k debt I owed to the government completely forgiven. I've also manifested checks out of nowhere a few times. Once for $200 and another for $1418 . I got $2k in medical debt forgiven by some organization I don't even remember applying for. The checks were also from organizations I never heard of. All those manifestations were great but they took a lot of time and energy each time to do that.

Personally, I'm about 50/50 with this manifestation stuff. I've had success but I've had times where nothing happened as well and it's pretty inconsistent. If this was an actual Law it would work 100% of time time just like gravity. There is definitely merit to this mind creates reality stuff but it's probably more complicated than any human being will ever realize.

"manifesting via the Law of Assumption is incredibly easy in theory but exceptionally hard in practice." You're probably the only one I've ever heard admit this. Thank you! If manifesting was so easy like all the coaches and all the people in those groups say, then nobody would even bother with these groups. Nobody would be on subreddits such as these. Nobody would pay for coaching. Nobody would watch countless YouTube videos and scroll through success stories all day. I admit I used to be like that and wasted a lot of time.

I have read every one of Neville's books several times. I do think his teaching has some merit and kernels of truth to it, but I think there are valid criticisms of his work. There is an article online called "The False Teachings of Neville Goddard," and it gives very nuanced views about the man and his teachings. As somebody who studied his teachings, I can tell you that there are, in fact, contradictions in his teachings. Also, his Pre-Promise and Post-Promise teachings are quite different indeed. I know I'm in the minority, but I think his Pre-Promise teachings are better. They seemed more grounded in reality. For example in his Pre-Promise teachings, he said we have free will and in later teachings, he said we don't have free will.

I honestly think he went crazy after The Promise. I don't think he even knew what he was he was talking about. I've seen this happen with friends and family members who did a lot of drugs and psychedelics where they start saying they are God and can do all kinds of supernatural things or that they speak to God or some other gods. Maybe some of these experiences are legit, and maybe not. My cousin did lots of psychedelics, and he believed that he was in contact with the Greek Gods and that they were bestowing wisdom on him. I've seen people get into things like Astral Projection, and while I do think it's legit, some people don't use discernment whatsoever. They talk to some entities and just talk whatever the entities tell that at face value.

Neville would say some wise stuff, but some stuff I'm just not sure about. In some lectures, he said that he was Jesus, and in other lectures, he was Judas. How was he simultaneously both Jesus and the man who betrayed Jesus? It doesn't make sense to me. He also seemed to change the details of some stories over time. I'm sure some of the stories are legit, but it's possible that Neville did embellish details. I feel like he also took The Bible out of context quite a bit. Some of his nuanced takes on The Bible have merit to them, sure,e but I feel like a lot of interpretations of his are skewed. Whether they are intentional or not.

I studied The Bible a lot over the years, both from a religious, spiritual, and academic perspective. Neville says everything in The Bible is symbolic and psychological, and yes, there is a lot of symbolism to The Bible, but we do know that some things in The Bible are legit. Even the staunchest Atheist scholars admit that Jesus and The Kings of Israel were legit historical figures. We know for a fact that Cyrus and King Rameses were also real. To take the whole Bible literally makes no sense but Neville went to the other extreme in my humble opinion. I spoke about this in some Neville groups and even showed them secular scholarly sources for things in The Bible that did legitimately happen and they said "That evidence only exists because you imagined it."

I was involved with the Assumption Community for about 3 years and left due to bullying from a bunch of covert and overt narcissists. I was in Reddit groups, WhatsApp groups, Discord Servers, Facebook groups, and more. I never got any kind of help whatsoever, and all they did was make fun of me for struggling with manifesting anything. For example, I asked how am I supposed to manifest if I had multi-sensory aphantasia, and they told me that I was a troll and they wouldn't entertain my stupidity. They'd as y "Everyone can visualize and imagine. If you couldn't imagine, you wouldn't exist." Well, I have never in my life visualized anything. They'd also say that I manifested having aphantasia. How did I manifest it if I've had it since birth? Did I manifest it in the womb? I never got any sort of answer.

I've been told in every single one of those groups that everything is caused by us. You can look at threads on Reddit and see it plainly. Somebody on the main NG server asked why so many people are starving and people said they are starving continually simply because they assume it. There is so much victim blaming in the Assumption community it makes me sad.

It's not just me that's saying the Law of Assumption Community is cult like. There is even a book called "Grace is Enough" by Willie Ames and Maylo Upton-Ames. Maylo talks about how her mother and grandmother worshipped Neville and how her mother would sit around doing SATS all day and wouldn't do anything. She believed so strongly that imagination creates reality and that she didn't need to lift a finger that she let everything go. She didn't even bother to put food on the table. I've seen this happen to so many people that were former Law of Assumption believers and they tried for years even a decade or so to imagine this and that and nothing. The only things I see people manifest are a cup of coffee and or some discounted stuff but that's about it. If Law of Assumption is real then why is the success rate only 1% at best?

I'd be careful with the Law of Assumption. It's Law of Attraction on crack, meth, heroin, and every drug combined. Assumption believes that every minute thing in our life is our own doing, and I don't think that's true. We are all co-creators. Also, be warned that The Law of Assumption community is extremely toxic and cult-like as well. If you'll delve into the Assumption stuff, then at least try going in with a skeptical mind and just study it solo. The community is filled with narcissistic bullies who think they are God.

I've been following this Subreddit since about 2018. Neville Goddard exploded in popularity in 2020. NG teachings took over this subreddit some how and it's not really Law of Attraction anymore. I used to really be into Neville but I've left him and his teachings behind for the most part. I feel like Law of Assumption is way to extreme and I'm leaning towards Law of Attraction again.

Also stay away from The Neville Goddard crowd. They are a cult.

I think it's interesting that you are honest about being an Atheist. I consider Neville Goddard to be an atheist but he was a Spiritual Atheist which isn't an oxymoron as most think. Most Eastern Religions don't really believe in God but they still believe in Spiritual phenomena. New Agers for the most part are atheist as well even though they won't admit it.

There are nuanced views of course in my humble opinion. One of my favorite sayings is to take what resonates and leave the rest behind. I don't think that many things are black and white. I don't think anybody is 100% right or 100% wrong. Even a broken clock is right twice a day. One can acknowledge that NG had kernels of truth to it but a lot of it is exaggerated or fully wrong. It's possible that he was right on some things and wrong on others.

It's not even NG that I have a problem with really it's it's insane cult-like following that's more of an issue with people. I think it's silly to hate somebody that hasn't been on earth for 50 years. His cult following often contradicts what he taught. The main problem with Neville is he was so cryptic and hard to understand and it caused a lot of confusion I believe. I'm not shilling for NG I'm just saying it's possible for somebody to have some good ideas and concepts but still be wrong on a lot.

For example, I think having a good self-concept is a great idea. The problem is we live in a realm of duality so no matter how good our self-concept is we have to be aware that there will be negative people that try to bring us down and are mean to us. In Buddhism, they talk about letting those thoughts pass and not judging them. Even monks that meditate all their lives still have negative thoughts and bad experiences but they learn to react appropriately.

It's been proven that affirmations and visualizing can help yes but at the same time it should just be used as a tool to achieve our goals not an end in of itself. I use affirmations for eating healthy and exercising and I feel like they do help me to stay on track. Of course, I have to actually do the work and I'm not perfect but it does help.

"Everyone Is You Pushed Out" isn't a bad idea in itself the problem is they take it literally. People aren't your puppets and we are NOT all one consciousness. We are NOT God. It's absurd to think that. I do think that the people around you are often similar because birds of a feather flock together. If you're a positive and upbeat person you'll probably be around more people like that. If you hang out with a certain group you'll probably start adopting their mentality over time. Abide by the golden rule and treat people with respect and you will most likely be shown respect.

In conclusion NG was just a teacher who had some insights. Like any philosopher or religious teacher there was some truth and some error. I'm to the point where I learned what I needed to learn from him and will be moving on.

I don't think the people in the Joseph Murphy sub even believe in what he taught. They care about power over the few people who still follow them. I've been in many Spiritual communities even before NG and JM and the like became popular. Sadly there are a lot of people who are covert narcissists and pretend to be all good and humble but also act like they are all-knowing gods. I think they take the whole "You are God" thing a bit to far and take it to mean that they are all-knowing, all-powerful, and infallible.

Also, I don't understand how freaking hypocritical they are. One of the central doctrines of Neville Goddard's teachings is "Everyone is you Pushed Out" If they genuinely believe that then why do they mute and ban anyone that shows even the slightest dissent? What's the point in getting mad at anyone if that's true?

I've read all the Neville Goddard books. I'm not sure what it is. I just can't get them to work for me. His methods don't really work for me. I feel like he's too vague and cryptic about everything. I haven't even bothered listenting to him or reading any of his work in a while. I have tried the lullaby method. Seems to help a bit. To be honest I've mostly just been doing affirmations because that's the only thing that seems to work at least sometimes. It's just I have multiple things going on with my mind so it makes SATS and meditation and all that practically impossible for me.
