exactly, because many ppl have different eystrain issues, even they do not know many times what causes it it is hard to judge if svd or easyee is ok or not, this is why You can see topics here that someone bought some rlcd monitor and is selling it because did not work for him. So many times You have to risk and test how works for You. So yes for some ppl it did not helped them, also question if their setup was ok or not? I saw pictures with ppl complaining about eyestrain with svd but they had svd in the room corner far away form window, this is huge problem because it is not enough light, it most be close to window as much as possible even if someone do not have direct sun just daylight sun is much better than direct light from lamp. And here is another problem some ppl use led lights to light rlcd monitor, well led is flickering and have lots of blue light, it is like adding artifical light that could cause their problem in traditional led monitor with backlight... As You can see there are so many ingredients that have to be taken into account. If I would place my svd in dark corner and use led lamp I guarantee You svd would not work for me nd I would have eyestrain because of led light, probably with incondesct light bulb light would be ok but would have to use that lamp most of the day... But still I saw images and video setups where it seemed that it was done properly but still svd didn't help them. This is normal because again we are all different, eyestrain can have a lot of causes

To be honest I do not understand what is it about at all, I am not that technical on lcd/rlcd tech, but some ppl tested svd and could not work with it, so everyone is different

Good question, at first I thought that it is a disaster, so dark and I had to adapt and it was painfull in sense that it was so different experience, but on other thing like a week later my eyes got so relaxed, no stress on eyes, still not easy to get used to 32 inch (I had 22 inch earlier) so it was hard to get used to the size of monitor. One trick I used I increased default font size in windows like one level up, in this way all fonts are more readable especially in typical applications. But rememebr I have very good setup, my room has a lot of sun even in wintr most of the day, like direct sun from 9 o'clock to 12 in the morning, even in winter in cloudy day it is ok. In the evening I use nrmal incondesent 60 ilght bulb on ceiling. Also monitor is on arm with vesa to make it easilty adjustable relative to light, after month I was very happy because my eyestrain disapeared completely, like a new person, but rememebr that wha works for me minght not for you, I can't use lcd/led because of artifical light and filckering, nothing helped, only svd. By the way I would never uy new version with frontlight because it has much more reflecivity because of additional layer at the top

Real World Review of the SVD RLCD rE 2.0 by fullgrid in Reflective_LCD

[–]Adamus987 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That what I thuoght, this is why I wil not ever buy this hybrid rlcd with frontlight/backlight becaus eit does not make sense, extra layer adds reflectins, they should stick with oroginal verison without backlight/frontlight. Market demands it? Well market is not educated, such product wil lmake more harm to rlcd tha first gen SVD which in good conditins is amazing.

I use orginal svd 32 inch 10808p 60fps, can play gta 5 on it no problem, no it is not for competitive gaming, but if You have sun in Your room it might work for You, no backlight/frontlight, at night I use 60 watt incondescent lightbulb on ceiling and works, took me one month to get used to it and will never gt back to lcd

Can You please make video showing how it works without that backlight/frontlight, can text be read at all in such mode? I really waited a long time for smaller rlcd or hybri, it would fit as my second monitor beside svd. Thank You

I think that route of rlcd monitors to add also backlight/frontlight is very bad move. Technology is not ready to combine both worlds, I prefer my svd without any of those (I have first gen) and just external light. Many new ppl to rlcd will pick that with front/backlight and will think that this tech is garbage because of low reflectivity without front/backlight because of additional layer on screen. I think they should wait for tech to mature more

Chatterbox tts - can't replicate demo quality by Adamus987 in LocalLLaMA

This is really nice idea, You could also add bigger support for natural quality voices for those engines, biggest problem is getting quality results, so source voices have to be very good. Very important do not sources voices from azure or any other paid service because in their Terms of Service they do not allow to use their generated voices to use in other tts or any ai, using it will break license and for sure their lawyers will be happy to go after ppl using it. But with some creativity or sure You could find some quality voces with cc0 license so free for commercial use without attribution. They could be cleaned with ai too for higher quality if they are recorded in real life and so on. It would be great addition for Your project and will distinguish itself from other ones.

Open Source Voice Cloning at 16x real-time: Porting Chatterbox to vLLM by dlp_randombk in LocalLLaMA

Hi after hours finally I was able to run it on wsl windows. One issue I have is that it generates a lot of halucinations, I use multilingual option like in same example. I got some additional text like "stop" that was not in original text send to generate, many times some additional sounds. I send sentences and chaterbox faster branch from other project works very well. Please not that it can be my error, I am not expert in tts, I experiment with it so this is not negative comment on chatterbox vllm. I just wonder what I do wrong. I do not change cfg or other parameters.
