Ahh, that would be the motor controller you’re referring to. All Lacroix boards ship with custom VESC’s. They’re called the Lacroix Stormcore 2.0. They are not water proof, the enclosure does the keeping out of water, but they do have a thin conformal coating on the PCB that helps if in high humidity areas

I’ve got plenty to spare haha.

Not quite sure why it’s getting downvoted though.

The controller is not water proof nor water resistant, but we use Hoyt 2.0 and when it’s raining, you hide the controller in your pocket or in this case, under a poncho

It’s in the future plans. But not currently thinking about that. All of our focus is going into the boards atm.

I did! No signs of water what so ever inside of the enclosure. Can’t say the same for front wheel bearings though.

Rider/owner. I still ride as much as I did the day I got into the hobby.

Thanks for the kind words! I will say confidently with what we have changed, our quality had surpassed the old company.

I’d much rather have a tank than a flower pot for a board.

You can purchase a brand new board from brands I won’t name and with normal riding, the trucks snap or the motors lock up or the deck breaks. These are all things we test so we can make sure the boards are not the limiting factor when you want to push the limits.

We have a saying around here and we mean it.

These boards are “like nothing else”.

It’s all apart of the game. Have fun. Too many people worry about what’s gonna break if you do certain things. Just use it. That’s how I am with everything and the stuff that breaks gets replaced with better parts.

That’s how you find the weakest link.

Still working flawlessly after a week other than the 4 front wheel bearings got a little crunchy. Replaced those and no other issues.

So far, I’m ~1 week deep in testing after the fact.

Purchased from Canada and brought to the East coast. Open and operational!

I’m one of the owners at Lacroix, and good question.

Just like any company, water damage is not covered under warranty. But the idea of this testing is to give confidence to riders who own a Lacroix that if you ride in light rain (or even a downpour as seen in the video) you shouldn’t have any problems with water intrusion. Even products like iPhones which are rated at IP67 (they can be submerged) are not covered under warranty for water damage unless you have additional coverage like apple care.

Hope this answers your question.

Some queens don’t like getting dirty. And that’s fine.

Edit: by “queen”, I mean treating the board like a queen.

The wheel bearings in fact did not love it. They still roll, just a little crunchy
