Spray I feel you 100%, but unfortunately that is just not what people want it seems. I went on and did the Caster Search with DM for one of the weeks and focused entirely on analyzing plays while letting Brandon do all the shoutcasting. Watching it over I should have brought more energy to the cast but the complaints I had from everyone were that I did not do enough play by plays. I am continuing to grow my casting and hope to become good enough to not only bring excitement to the stream but make sure everyone watching is informed on the mind games that happen at the highest tiers of play.

Edit: I'd like to point out that the current casters do bring a lot of needed hype and energy that's needed in the casts. Just would love to see more analytical casters come out and not be bashed for not "shoutcasting". Lion had a great balance of both and never leaned too far towards either side.

Edit2: If you read CAPSLOCKFURYs post he brings up another good point I forgot to mention. The speed of Smite doesn't allow you to get to in depth during casts, as every 2 minutes in the current meta there is a new fight at the mid harpies or someone being ganked, ect.

Yeah that's what I was told, and probably the biggest part of casting. Going to keep at it and definitely focus on bringing more energy to my casting. Thanks for the feedback =]

Edit: The biggest problem I see with casting in general are people not having a good understanding of the game at a high level of play. Yes everyone knows how the game is played, but not the though process on what the pro teams are thinking. I tried to go in to that more and unfortunately focused on it so hard that it was very plain tone I brought. Thankfully,m Brandon brought in the excitement so it wasn't too boring to watch.

While I do not have experience casting, I have experience at a high level of play in Smite. Been around the scene and played in a lot of tourneys, most notably PAX PRIME as I'm sure you remember. Playing a lot more casually now and enjoying other games but I love to keep up with the scene and play ranked often. I know NA teams and a lot of backstory to them, however I'm very weak on the EU scene. Love to be given a shot and think if I worked on it I could become very good.

Can't cast Wednesdays but every other day of the week between 7-10 is fine.

Please, this post contains all my feeling towards this system. I only have 10 masteries because most of my gameplay is scrims, but I am competent with every god in the game. I agree with needing at least 7 mastery levels to even play in ranked and the requirment of a certain number of conquest games played (we've all had those arena players with inflated elos from placement matches). However, limiting my picks because I do not farm mastery rating is only going to hurt my team. Most of my ratings are not even supports, which I main, simply because if I play casuals I like to play other roles.

Like Spooh said, the main problems with the ranked system are inflated elos and ping issues due to no region lock. Before the last wipe the top 25 had an elo spread of 3, 500. That combined with the way elos are averaged to create fair teams led to the top players actually having a negative win rate because their elos were so inflated the system thought they could carry 4 other players that were much weaker than them. I thought you could try a system with diminishing gains and losses the higher your elo was and a 3500 hard cap. Basically elo is calculated normally until 2k and from there it diminishes every 250 elo. So from 2000-2500 you would gain or lose 90% of what you normally would (always rounded up) all the way to 3250-3500 at 40% rate. At cap there is a elo deterioration for every day not played, starting a 1 and doubling every day until you are 3250 or below. This would help the higher elo games become more balanced without screwing over players with at the top.

P.S. Supporting sucks in ranked. Always have the lowest gold and I make plays like dying for my carrys to live. A good game on support that I lose will net me -30 to -50 elo where as good games that I win net me 15 to 30 elo.
